Prior to being named CEO effective January 2012, Tim served as President since February 2005, where he was responsible for the performance and coordination of various activities including Development, Redevelopment, Construction, Acquisitions, Dispositions, Asset Management, and Property Operations. Prior to becoming President, Tim served in a variety of capacities with the company, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Regional Vice-President of Development and Acquisitions. Tim has been with the company or its predecessors since 1989. Tim is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), where he serves on the Board of Governors, the Real Estate Round Table, the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), where he serves on the Executive Committee, and the Multifamily Product Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Tim received his MBA from Harvard Business School and earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, where he graduated with High Distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
