Responsibilities:
Clean sinks, showers, toilets and other fixtures.
Stock soap and paper products in bathrooms.
Clean and dust surfaces including glass and mirrors.
Vacuum carpet and sweep and mop floors.
Deep clean resident's rooms and care areas.
Infection control.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Must have experience interacting with residents of this nature.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, and uphold procedures to ensure all staff are trained and in compliance with this policy.
Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English fluently
Must have an active CPR/BLS certification.
Must be 18 years of age

The Environmental Services (E.S.) Aide Level I is responsible for performing duties to provide a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment to a high standard to enhance quality patient care.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

* As directed, clean ceilings, horizontal surfaces, spot clean walls, furnishings, and floors in assigned areas including patient care units, isolation rooms, examination rooms, medication rooms, offices, and common areas to high standards of cleanliness and disinfection to enhance quality patient care.
* Sanitize bathrooms using materials as required; restock expendable items daily and as needed.
* Dry mop and damp mop floors, vacuum floors thoroughly in assigned areas.
* Collect and transport trash to specified, temporary collection areas in accordance with regulations.
* Clean facility entrances including door glass using the appropriate equipment and supplies.
* Hang draperies, cubicle curtains, blinds and shades.
* Change mattresses as requested.
* Move patient beds as requested.
* Prepare and set up meeting rooms as requested.
* Change sharps containers upon request.
* Monitor the department's pager and courteously respond to requests in a timely manner.
* Follow safety practices applicable to equipment, supplies, and procedures.

Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Known for its mild year-round climate and outdoor activities, Grants NM offers low property taxes and inexpensive housing costs.
Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab, and skilled care beds are provided.
JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE:
A housekeeper at Cibola General Hospital is responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the hospital, clinics and rentals that we maintain. This will include tasks like mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, cleaning and restocking patient rooms, nursing stations, lunges, restrooms, offices, isolation rooms, clinic areas and any other area assigned. The ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment and moving furniture is required. An understanding of proper handling and disposal of biological waste is required. Housekeepers may be exposed to hazardous waste including used needles, tainted linens or diseases transmitted by touch or airborne particles. Housekeepers must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other staff. The ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential.
PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall cleaning and sanitization of hospital areas to include:
Dust rooms and public areas.
Clean Windows (interior and exterior).
Clean and wash down restrooms, including toilets and showers.
Dust or wet mop as required.
Empty waste receptacles
Spot clean walls, floors and other areas as needed.
Vacuums rugs and carpet.
Shampoo carpets, strip/wax floors as needed.
Clean patient rooms upon discharge.
Weights linen, sorts and distributes.
May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

To maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment and prevent healthcare-associated infections using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals in all areas of the facility for patients, staff, and community. Demonstrates positive customer relations as well as having a good knowledge of where all departments and services are located. Works with patients, families, departmental co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, physicians, and the general public.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Cleans and sanitizes patient care areas, inpatient rooms, bathrooms, halls, departments, offices, and other areas of the hospital while following proper policies and procedures, with special attention to infection control practices. Cleans and maintains equipment at the end of shift.
* Uses appropriate chemicals and techniques when washing and cleaning. Sanitizes, washes and polishes sinks, commodes, fixtures, tubs, and showers. Checks and cleans mirrors, soap dispensers, water pipes, and exterior surfaces.
* Cleans assigned areas daily. Cleans edges and baseboards removing any buildup. Dusts furniture, ledges, and tables. Empties, washes, and relines wastebaskets. Spot washes walls and windows.
* Performs periodic cleaning of high ledges, ceilings, light fixtures, and vents. Cleans doors and parts of showers and commodes that may be subject to mineral deposit.
* Checks and stocks supplies in areas such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
* Cleans floors in inpatient and non-patient areas daily by removing debris and dust. Dry and damp mop, as well as vacuum, floors daily. May also spot clean stains. Completes floor care, to include buffing, shampooing, stripping, and waxing.
* Removal of trash from areas and dispose of in the proper receptacle. Biohazard waste is also removed from areas and placed in the Bio Shed.
* Delivers clean linen as well as removes soiled linens from areas and puts in proper area.
Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.
