The primary responsibilities of the Construction Inspector, Airfield are to inspect and review small to large construction methods in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications and to provide general inspections on construction labor and subcontractor work to assure a good and cooperative operation. This position will assist primarily in the Southwest Florida region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to):
Conducts construction inspections according to approved drawings and specifications.
Ensures compliance with the project plans, specifications, and local building codes.
Monitors and documents construction activities.
Prepares field investigation and construction inspection reports.
Observes, monitors, and reports on quality control and quality assurance material field testing required to determine contractor's compliance with contract specifications.
Provides field measurements and assists in compiling quantity reports (CQVs) for payment of quantities and changes in the work.
Reviews airfield improvement plans and permits, conducts field inspections and/or participates in field meetings.

Records and reports on any deviations from the contract documents.

The Mechanical Engineering Project Manager in this role manages the full scope of work from preparation of proposal through construction. The Electrical Engineering Project Manager with the Airfield Lighting team based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office manages the full scope of work from preparation of proposal through construction. Duties include overseeing all technical aspects of airport Airfield Lighting projects, reviewing all documents for quality control and quality assurance, and coordinating engineers and sub-consultants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to):
Project Management:
Responsible for design and management of airport Runway and Taxiway lighting systems, Approach Lighting, NAVAIDS, Weather Reporting Aids, High Mast Apron Lighting and/or Airfield Lighting Vault projects including ensuring completeness and accuracy of design effort.
Responsible for the various design elements to complete a project, system, component, or system with other team members with clear and specified objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment.
Prepares complete project documentation to include plans, specifications, and engineer estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data.
Evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to project assignments; formulates and solves problems.
Works on multiple projects of moderate to large size using time efficiently to stay within budget and timely delivery.
Develops proposals including bid documents, project reports, studies, and other documentation.
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct individuals or teams of technical staff or Project Managers on multiple complex projects and/or less complex projects.

Lead construction administration tasks, including:
Submittal reviews
Preparation of meeting agendas and minutes
Review of daily and weekly construction reports
Preparation of payment applications, RFIs, and change orders

Assist in training, mentorship, and technical development of Project Managers and staff through:
