ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patrols Authority property and surrounding areas
as assigned by vehicle, bicycle, or on foot to deter, locate and apprehend
persons committing crimes or unlawful activities.

jail.
Conducts criminal and civil investigations;
collects and maintains evidence, writes criminal and civil incident reports;
responds to subpoenas; and testifies in Municipal, State, and Federal court as
required; operates law enforcement computer systems.
Assesses the need for use of deadly force and
less lethal force options including chemical weapons, impact weapons, physical
control holds, and verbal commands.
Provides traffic and crowd control; responds to
life threatening situations; provides non-police related support services as
needed.
Answers questions from employees and the general
public regarding laws, ordinances, incidents or services.
Attends mandatory POST and departmental training
to maintain required police standards to include firearms range, defensive
tactics, and criminal law.
May serve as lead worker for other classified
staff within the department.
Other related tasks as assigned and/or required.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED and 60 college units; Associates
degree preferred; but not required. Other
combinations of education and experience which meet the minimum requirements
may be substituted. Must have completed or must successfully complete
approved Louisiana basic Peace Officer's Standards & Training (POST). Three years experience in law enforcement
work. Must have attained 21
st
birthday at time of appointment/hiring. Current P.O.S.T. certification within past four years.

Job Description
Job Summary: Project SAVE has been a program of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans for over thirty years. Our program provides free legal services to victims of domestic violence in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. Our attorneys represent clients at their Protective Order hearings and help to empower them throughout the legal process. The Court may grant relief including temporary child custody, temporary use of the home and community property, and temporary child and spousal support.
The Domestic Violence Counselor will work for CCANO on a part-time basis. The Counselor will have flexible work hours and will be able to provide tele-health services to clients. The Counselor will follow best practices and adhere to ethical and legal mandates. The counselor is expected to maintain necessary client records, maintain confidentiality and work closely with the Program Director to exceed contractual compliance. She/He is expected to have specialized knowledge of the principles of Domestic Violence Counseling and the evidenced based principles of standardized treatment. Clients will potentially have complex histories and/or intervention needs. The Domestic Violence Counselor will be considered a mental health expert within Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO) and may be called upon to consult with other programs within the broader agency.

Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:

This role is part of our Integrated Air Services (IAS) Group. Weston's IAS team conducts testing projects to assist clients in emissions testing and demonstrating emissions compliance with industry-specific regulations set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 40 - Protection of Environment. Projects typically involve measuring air emissions directly from industrial sources and/or the ambient air in the vicinity using state-of-the-art instrumentation housed in mobile laboratories.

A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, human resources, education, therapy services, or nursing; OR
A bachelor's degree in a rehabilitation field, a social sciences field, social work, education, nursing, health and human services, or speech therapy; OR

Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
* Evaluate client information by reviewing clinical and medical assessments, social history, progress notes, and administering an initial interview with any client who is referred to the varied patient academic education programs.
* Administer and interpret Schonell's Reading Checklist, the TABE, the TONI, and the Wide Range Achievement Test.
* Design and implement instructional group and/or 1-to-1 programs such as: Computer Literacy Training, Literacy Tutoring, Adult Basic Education Tutoring, and Computer Lab-based pre-GED and ABE Group Tutoring. Additional subjects covered may include: how to complete a job application, filling out an income tax form, how to use a calculator, how to use reference tools, how to obtain outside community-based resources for educational or work-related needs. Basic math, language arts, science, social studies, and adult-level reading skills training will also be offered to patients who have not succeeded in obtaining their basic education.
* Create and maintain individual records for patients enrolled in both group and one-to-one instruction in order to reflect the patient's progress within the program.
* Perform all ELMHS-required documentation of each patient enrolled in the patient academic education programs including: evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, the client's attendance, participation, acquisition of skill, and mastery of concept following instruction.
* Prepare and maintain a Patient Referral database which reports all patients referred for patient academic program services.
* May recommend changes or innovations to the assigned client's Treatment Team which enhance the rehabilitative environment for the clients.
