A Brief Overview
Responsible to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention of acute, chronic or moderately disturbed behavioral health patients. Provides clinical consultation services, community education services.
What you will do
* Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to severe mental, behavioral, and/or social adjustment program. Adhere to policies which assure the confidentiality of client communications. Provide for a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to the treatment of clients, coordinating same with appropriate hospital departments.
* Conducts individual, family or group therapy sessions in accordance with accepted principles of the American Psychological Association and the Avera Psychology Section by-laws. Assess progress of clients/patients with referring physician or agency. Document therapy in accordance with hospital policies and procedures in Electronic Medical Record.
* Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes, and other instances as outlined in hospital policy. Refer client or patient to outside agencies where appropriate.
* Communicates with family members/significant others in order to further the effectiveness of client/patient treatment and progress. Coordinate client/patient billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay.
* Provides educational programs on a variety of psychological topics to hospital/community groups as requested.
* Administers and interpret psychological assessment instruments and outcomes in accordance with accepted principles of the American Psychological Association and the Avera Psychology Section by-laws.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
* Doctorate (PHD) Doctoral degree (Ph.D., PsyD or EDD) or equivalent
* Psychologist - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
* 2+ years in the field of psychology or a similar field

Role Overview:
Responsible providing individual, family, and group therapy services in acute care settings for youth and adolescent clients experiencing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. The Clinical Psychologist will complete psychological screening and assessments across programs. Services will include providing evaluation, consultation, and monitoring of individuals receiving involuntary care. Position will work in a multidisciplinary team of providers and is critical to supporting the mental health and developmental needs of young people in our community.
Essential Duties:
Conduct age-appropriate clinical interviews, screenings, psychological assessments, and testing in acute care programs.
Diagnose emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders specific to youth populations.
Develop and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and care teams.
Deliver evidence-based therapy (individual, group, and family) focused on supporting youth mental health.
Consult with school personnel, pediatricians, case managers, and other providers to coordinate care.
Required:
Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in clinical settings (school-based, outpatient, or community behavioral health strongly preferred).
Current and valid DORA license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of CO.
Highly Desired:
Proven experience in child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems approaches.
Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred

QUALIFICATIONS
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology

What You Bring

Psychologist
Certifications:
Actively participate in and contribute to a team-based model to ensure integration of services and coordination of care for clients on Mental Health Certifications. Review requests for Mental Health Certifications by external providers within 1 business day.
Ensure all required documentation for Mental Health Certifications is completed according to the 27-65 statute.
Provide a minimum of monthly assessment and clinical intervention to all clients on a Mental Health Certification and document those interventions within 1 business day.
Direct clinical interventions needed to ensure that clients on mental health certifications receive quality care, outreach and coordination of services promoting positive clinical outcomes.
Provide clinical services at external sites and in the community as necessary to connect with clients and families that are marginally engaged or have barriers to coming into the office.
Lead process of filing pick up orders or other legal paperwork with the courts including testifying in a court hearing directly related to the client's mental health status and need for a mental health certification.
Work proactively with behavioral health medical providers to ensure timely coordination of care, enforce court ordered medications, and assess mental status of clients and complete testimony and/or court documentation.
May provide clinical supervision and consultation to psychologist externs, psychologist candidate and other staff supporting clients on certifications as needed.
Psychological Assessment:
Provide comprehensive testing and assessment services to clients for the purpose of diagnostic clarification for behavioral, cognitive and emotional disorders.
Provide comprehensive testing and assessment services to clarify academic abilities and needs for students.
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting to provide clinical results and recommendations.
Other Duties:
Operate within the Intensive Outpatient Services programs including working with multidisciplinary teams and attending weekly rounding meetings with case consultation.
Provide competent clinical assessment and intervention, ensuring that corresponding documentation is completed within required time frames.
Ensure established productivity requirements are met.
Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience, education and ability of the employee.
Qualifications:
PhD in Psychology or a Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD)
1-2 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting
Familiarity with the 27-65 statute and its application

Ability to exercise substantial autonomous judgment and decision making based on assessment and consultation with other professionals to determine need for voluntary versus involuntary treatment for clients.
