- Managed and supported 15,000+ servers located in 5 data centers providing solutions and system integration for application and infrastructure systems.
4. DOD
Definition of Done (DoD) is a set of deliverables that are needed to devise software. These deliverables are valuable to the system and can be exemplified by writing code, coding comments, unit testing, integration testing, design documents, release notes, and so on.
- Served as Information Systems Security Officer for closed area lab network comprised of several DOD classified information systems.
- Engage in customer teleconference to verify user and mail accounts matched appropriate DoD Identification numbers prior to migration.
5. C++
C++ is a general-purpose programming language that is used to create high-performing applications. It was invented as an extension to the C language. C++ lets the programmer have a high level of domination over memory and system resources. C++ is an object-oriented language that helps you implement real-time issues based on different data functions
- Programmed in .NET C++ and Delphi language to create the GUI of the aeronautical instruments and functions.
- Used TCP/IP, UDP, C++, .NET, FTP, XML and 802.11 to load and debug software files.
6. Engineering Support
Engineering support means providing assistance to different engineers working in the company. It enables them to complete their tasks effectively and timely. Engineering support revolves around diagnosing and resolving software and hardware problems. They also look for network issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Provided cabin related avionics, systems, and electrical engineering support for all assigned projects.
- Provided engineering support for several NASA projects at Dryden Flight Research Center.
7. Software Development
Software development is the mechanism by which programmers create computer programs. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a framework for developing applications that follow technological needs and consumer requirements. It consists of many stages. The SDLC establishes an international standard that software developers can use to enhance and create their programs. It provides a well-defined framework for software developers to pursue in the production, maintenance, and design of premium quality software. The aim of the software development process is to create high-quality software on time and within budget.

10. Verification Testing
- Support included equipment installation, troubleshooting, and operational verification testing, and aircrew and maintainer training.
- Lead test team responsible for Design Verification, COMSEC Software Functional Qualification and Security Verification testing.
11. Configuration Management
Configuration management is a technical system of management controls that includes decisions, actions, and approvals that are applied throughout the life cycle of a program or system and that maintain the consistency of its performance, functional and physical attributes from the conceptual phase to production and finally to post-production support.
- Support Software Configuration Management (SCM) using PVCS/Dimensions tool to ensure application baselines and migrations are appropriately managed.
- Utilize DOORS requirements management and Serena Dimensions for configuration management.

What skills stand out on avionics systems engineer resumes?
Assistant Professor in Aeronautics & Astronautics, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, University of Washington
My advice to students to nurture these skills is to engage as early as possible with student clubs such as UW Design Build Fly (DBF) or SARP (Society for Advanced Rocket Propulsion). Another good idea is to get involved as soon as possible in research activities conducted by faculty in the Department. Finally, I cannot stress enough the importance of participating in summer internships at aerospace companies. For all these activities to be relevant, it is important to make sure there are tangible outcomes and the contribution of the student is evident. A sentence such as, "I worked in a team of twenty people to design a new concept of bracket for an aerospace hydraulic fuel system. I was the leader of a team of five people in charge of the structural design. Leveraging Finite Element Analysis we were able to reduce the weight of the bracket of more than 50 percent compared to legacy design. In addition to the FEM simulations, my responsibilities included organizing weekly meetings with the team to discuss progress, deliverables, and timeline, presenting the results to the company, and writing monthly scientific reports" really stands out in a resume. All the industrial partners I work with told me that having these experiences with tangible outcomes in the resume is one of the key deciding factors for a new hire.
