AVMAC company history timeline

2009

Ortiz and Don Buzard, both retired Navy commanders, launched AVMAC in 2009 as an aviation maintenance and onboard ship support contractor to serve the military.

2010

2010 – Avmax Spares division was established to provide complete spares support for regional aircraft customers worldwide.

2011

2011 – Avmax Spares East Africa was established to provide spares support to Avmax Leasing customers and other regional aircraft operators.

2012

2012 – Avmax Chad airlines was established with the first ICAO approved AOC

2013

2013 – Regional Express Aviation Limited (REAL) was created and a joint airline venture with Air Georgian was established.

2016

2016 – Avmax Engine division was established in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Plus, “It’s work that they’ve already done.” In 2016, AVMAC won the Governor’s Award for “Best Veteran Hiring Practices.”

2022

The company is due to graduate from the SBA program by 2022 and plans are to partner with a startup SBA company and offer them the kind of mentorship that positioned them toward success.
