Phil Gallagher is a British children's television presenter who is best known for playing the title character in the Cbeebies children's television show Mister Maker.

Michael McCoy was named the general counsel and chief legal officer for Avnet in April 2020. In this role he leads the company's global legal, trade compliance and security teams. Reporting to CEO William (Bill) Amelio, he is a member of the Avnet Executive Board and a corporate officer.

Mr. McCoy joined Avnet in 2010. Serving as an expat living in Brussels, Belgium, Mr. McCoy recently served as general counsel, international, overseeing Avnet’s legal teams in EMEA and Asia Pacific. He also previously served as Avnet’s corporate secretary. Before joining Avnet, he worked at two international firms representing companies in securities, governance and M&A matters. Mr. McCoy began his legal career as an attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona.

CFO with eighteen years of experience leading public companies. Industries include technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, food and distribution.



Currently CFO of Avnet, a Fortune 200 global distributor of electronic components with revenues of $19 billion. Previous CFO roles include Advanced Energy, MFLEX, Hypercom, Iomega and Dole Europe. Began career in Honeywell’s Financial Development Program and later as a management consultant with Deloitte.

As an international executive, served as CFO for several technology companies in Asia, with significant experience in China and Singapore. Lived in Paris, France for three years as CFO of Dole Europe. M&A skills include several international acquisitions. Served on the Board of Pascual Hermanos S.A, a subsidiary of Dole Food Company listed on the Madrid stock exchange.

Specializes in creating financial strategies and capital allocation plans to drive shareholder value and share price appreciation. Focused on developing strategic plans to invest in organic growth, optimize cost structures, expand through acquisitions and define specific capital allocation strategies. Brings a thoughtful approach to evaluating returns and defining guidelines for dividends and share repurchases. Transparent investor communications explaining the strategy, process and long term goals. Published an article in NACD Directorship titled “How Do You Deploy Capital? Have a Plan and Execute.”

Throughout career have worked with Boards and Audit Committees to increase shareholder value, manage and mitigate business risks and ensure the highest standards of behavior.

With a strong interest in developing our next generation business leaders, served as an adjunct professor of finance at Chapman University since 2011. Former Board member of the Chapman University Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship. Currently a member of the Arizona State University Fulton Dean’s Advisory Council.

NACD Board Leadership Fellow since 2016.

Ken Arnold is Avnet’s chief people officer. He is a member of the Avnet Executive Leadership Team and responsible for leading our global human resources team to attract, develop, engage and reward employees.

Arnold’s career includes more than 20 years of experience in human resources and information technology includes experience as vice president of human resources for multiple business units, in talent acquisition, and as director of human resources, information systems and payroll operations.

He holds bachelor’s degrees in both finance and economics from Tougaloo College, plus certifications in human resources from University of California, Los Angeles, and in organizational development from Harvard Business School.

Proven senior IT leader with strong global track record of successfully implementing existing and emerging technologies to address business needs, delivering measurable, sustainable business results. Global experience in the US, Europe and Asia.
