Awana company history timeline

1950

In 1950, Latham and Rorheim founded Awana as a parachurch organization.

1960

By 1960, 900 churches had started Awana programs.

1972

By 1972, Awana began its first international club in Bolivia.

2006

As 2006 moved forward, our concerns heightened as AWANA continued promoting contemplative materials and the Spiritual Formation movement and showed no signs of breaking away from Willow Creek.

2015

In September, Awana sent out an e-mail invitation to the 2015 National Youth Convention put on by Youth Specialties.

2020

The global reach of Awana has grown at a rapid pace with the goal of reaching 10 million kids with the gospel by 2020.
