Develop detailed reports to relay conditions and provide recommendations for improvement.

Demonstrate the value of risk engineering services by building credibility and creating strong customer satisfaction.

Complete the AXA XL Property Certificate Program Training.
Travel is anticipated to be 20-25%.

Engineering or Science based undergraduate degree.

The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you'll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. What You'll Do:
NYL Investors LLC was formed in October 2013 as a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company with the primary responsibility for managing the fixed income and real estate assets of New York Life and our other strategic partners. As an intern with NYL Investors LLC, you will gain meaningful exposure to the investment management industry. Interns have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects that may include portfolio management, new deal analysis, market research, credit evaluation, accounting, and commercial real estate investment oversight. You will work alongside investment professionals, develop analytical and technical skills, and gain insight into the decision-making processes that guide institutional investing.

Role Overview:
The Asset Liability Management (ALM) & Investment Strategy Team's mission at New York Life is to effectively partner with the business, finance, and asset management teams to research, develop, and implement investment strategies that help meet business and financial objectives. These goals heavily depend on robust models and data. This role will have broad responsibilities over the company's quantitative modeling and projection capabilities. Responsibilities may span modeling of traditional and exotic fixed income and equity assets, designing and implementing both model and platform improvements as well as on going production responsibilities. The program offers candidates the opportunity to learn both traditional and innovative methods for ALM & investment strategy development and to work on challenges and solutions that dominate leading-edge ALM discussions today. This is a structured 11-week program starting in late May and ending in August.

What You'll Do:
As an ALM intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other areas such as Finance, Actuarial, Risk Management and Investments, as well as the Business Units, regarding quantitative modeling efforts. You will also have the opportunity to:

2026 Business Strategy & Operations Summer Internship

The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you'll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. The summer internship program also includes additional social and networking opportunities where you will be able to expand your network with peers, mentors and senior leaders.
The Summer Internship opportunity is 10 weeks long, beginning Monday June 1st, 2026, and concluding Thursday, August 6, 2026. Interns will work on a hybrid schedule with Mondays and Fridays remotely.
Internship opportunities may be located in: New York, NY, White Plains, NY or Jersey City, NJ. Location is dependent upon the exact team you are aligned to; however, you will be able to specify your preferences on the job application.
What You'll Do:
Join New York Life's Business Strategy & Operations pathway and gain hands-on experience contributing to initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen operations, and support strategic decision-making. As an intern, you will learn how a Fortune 100 company runs its core business processes while developing critical skills in problem-solving, analysis, and collaboration.
Interns in this pathway are placed on a team within one of several departments, based on business need. You'll gain broad exposure to how New York Life operates by working closely with professionals across the organization to support projects that enhance operations and inform strategy.
Projects may include:
* Supporting pilots and new initiatives designed to improve operations and customer experience
* Documenting and refining business processes to create more efficient workflows
* Analyzing data to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
* Developing presentations and reports that communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders
This pathway is ideal for students who want to understand the inner workings of a large organization, are curious about how business operations connect to strategy, and enjoy using data and collaboration to solve real-world problems.
What You'll Bring:
Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
Preferred Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools like Tableau or other reporting platforms a plus
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment
* Coursework or interest in business, operations, management, or related fields
* Innovative mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Prior internship experience preferred, but not required
Additional Details:
* Internship applications will only be accepted through December 31st, 2025.
* Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis and notified by the end of January if selected to interview.
* Interns are expected to work for the duration of the 10-week internship.
