With over 26 years in the transportation and supply chain industry and as a second-generation owner, I am the Chief Executive Officer of RJW Logistics Group, where I oversee 1,000+ employees, multiple business units and revenue streams, and a rapidly growing retail logistics operation. I officially joined the company in June of 1994 in the Transport Operations division. With that experience, in 2000 I transitioned into a sales leadership role where I spent the subsequent ten years helping to grow the department and its output, and to define its goals. Following the retirement of my mother and father, I assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2010. The company has since expanded beyond traditional transportation and logistics to become a leader in retail consolidation and fulfillment, which has resulted in company revenue growth exceeding 48% each of the past six years. Today, RJW works out of over 2.5 million square feet of warehouse space and is growing to serve 100+ national retailers with over 100 power units and 700 trailers.

What employees say about Axion Logistics's competitors

Employee reviews

Pros of working at Axion Logistics

No forced dispatch, good pay, decent dispatchers. Axion does a lot of shutdown turnarounds and they are in almost every plant they service

Cons of working at Axion Logistics

Overkill when it comes to company rules and ever-changing policy and procedures. Insurance is expensive, and ELD and cameras restrict you even when you are off duty and not working. When it's slow it's really slow

Axion Logistics benefits

The staff is friendly and easy to work with. They will help you as long as you a willing to help yourself.

What do you like best about Axion Logistics's CEO and the leadership team?

The CEO is out in the field and knows his people on a first-name basis, The driver's coordinator is on the ball and she genuinely cares about the drivers.

How would you improve Axion Logistics's culture?

I would stop changing the rules policies and procedures as often as they do. Seems like management makes changes just to justify the position they hold. If it aint broke don't fix it.

How did you prepare for the Axion Logistics interview?

Bringing my resume, a clean well-maintained truck and trailer, and having an easy conversation, with the interviewer. Bring your credentials, know what PPE is, and why it's important. Know your purpose and your worth. Don't be afraid to gently demand a bigger percentage of the pie.

What's the diversity at Axion Logistics like?

DEI is not something I worry about unless my conservative and libertarian views are being discriminated against

What brings you the most joy at Axion Logistics?

I enjoy being on the road, interacting with the clients, and the challenges that come with working in the petro-chem industry as a professional hotshot driver.
