2005

He helped the company grow and led it to a successful IPO in 2005.

2007

Garrabrants became the president and CEO of Axos Bank in 2007, where he was previously the senior vice president and head of corporate business development.

2011

Axos Bank’s Rewards Checking Account was first launched in July 2011 under the bank’s original name, Bank of Internet USA. The top rate was 1.25% APY at that time, and this rate has held for more than nine years.

2013

All balances could qualify for 1.25% APY. That ended in early 2013 when the Bank introduced a balance cap of $150,000.

2014

Englert served as chairman of Bofi, but passed away in 2014.

2018

Now based in San Diego, Bofi rebranded as Axos Bank in 2018.

The successful launch of our Universal Digital Bank consumer platform and its delivery to nearly all of our customers in the summer of 2018 was the result of two years of meticulous work.

2020

Axos Bank has grown into a sizable bank with total assets of $11.5 billion and total deposits of $9.6 billion as of March 31, 2020.
