We are seeking a Senior Product Line Manager with a strong hands-on mentality to enhance current solution offerings and drive new API Management capabilities in our Amplify Platform. The Amplify platform is the heart of Axway's product offering and is a key and important to the company success. This person will be responsible for driving the core API policy definition and enforcement capabilities of the Amplify platform, defining and executing the product strategy and delivering a delightful user experience. In this role the person will also be responsible for market analysis, solution offering design, and solution architecture and deployment. This role reports to the Vice President of Product Management and can be based in Dublin, Ireland or remote.
Own the core API policy definition and enforcement capabilities driven from our Amplify management plane, both in terms of design-time user experience and runtime enforcement.
Assume accountability for the execution and business performance of the roadmap.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners and R&D teams to translate the vision and roadmap into an actionable, prioritized backlog, ensuring our teams are always working on the highest value item and gaining buy-in from internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, support, R&D) and customers.
Drive efficiency: Practice value-driven decision making. Build flexible solutions, rationalize existing services, modify, and reuse existing Axway or 3rd party components and services when appropriate.
Understand our customers through research and regular interactions with them (interviews, user groups, advisory boards, surveys, etc.) so that you can effectively communicate their challenges, goals, and success metrics and validate proposed product capabilities.
Be an internal and external solution evangelist.
Beyond everyday priorities, have an eye toward the future. Develop relationships at all levels of the customers' organizations to capture buyer needs into direction and strategy. Articulate the vision of their solution to employees, customers, partners, analysts, industry bodies and other influencers.
Effective communication, verbally, visually, and in writing, with cross-functional teams to determine the optimal scope of software, services, solutions, and partnerships.
Thoughtfully rigorous, strong work ethic and a close attention to details.
Domain knowledge of Full Lifecycle API Management, especially customer problems and market trends around API Infrastructure / Policy / Security.
A team player that acknowledges diverse viewpoints and works constructively to accommodate stakeholder goals and constraints.
Track record of demonstrated effectiveness working in highly collaborative design or other multidisciplinary teams, including geographically distributed teams.
Champions “whole solution” thinking - considering functional and non-functional requirements and implications for how solutions are promoted, sold, delivered, and monetized.
Ability to turn the complex into the simple. You must be able to understand the business needs and challenges of customers and drive the translation of these needs with your team into well-defined functional requirements with real customer use cases and ensure they are easily understood by our development teams.
You make data-driven decisions and can clearly explain the rationale and principles behind them.
Live and breathe the voice of the customer, capable of translating market trends, requirements, and competitive dynamics into comprehensive solution offerings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required Education / Experience
5+ years of progressive product management leadership owning the end-to-end product lifecycle with a reputation of delighting customers, meeting tight deadlines, and fostering cross-functional collaborative working relationships.
Experience in building API Management offerings such as API gateway, proxy, or service mesh solutions.
Experience with container-based solutions and supporting cloud-native management, provisioning, and observability technologies is highly desired.
Bachelor's degree required; comparable academic training in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or closely related discipline preferred.
Experience in the creation of more than one product from inception to release with meaningful results measured in terms of customers, revenue and/or market share.
Background with direct responsibility as a solution manager, product manager, architect, business analyst, presales consultant, a plus.
Approximately 20% travel may be required, including international travel.
