Summary: Perform masking and racking duties for subsequent chemical processes and paint applications using tape, liquid maskants, and various other materials. This position will have a specific focus on safety, quality, and throughput within the masking department. Supports the department leadership and helps ensure masking is performed in accordance with masking aids using Catia, Adobe Illustrator, and other software. Works directly with the masking supervisor and the masking lead to promote a Lean and continuous improvement culture, constantly striving to find a better, cheaper, faster way to move parts through the masking department. Responsibilities Level 1: * Read and understand work order requirements. * Identify parts with printed and/or electronic pictures. * Must be capable of performing all paint/chemical processing preparation activities. * Assists with overseeing the department personnel's performance to ensure they are meeting EHS Policies, Quality Requirements, Production Demands, and Customer Expectations. * Troubleshoot all types of tapes, plugs and liquid maskants with the masking supervisor/manager and the quality engineer. * Participates in and drives the Corrective Action Process in the Masking Department and assists other departments as required. * Provides technical support for drawing and model interpretation to the quoting department as needed. * Participates in the creation of masking aids to ensure compliance to drawing requirements. * Participates in the creation of a masking aid library to assist in the reduction of masking errors. * Handles customer-supplied product with care. * May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by business demands. * Maintains safe and clean work environment; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures * Perform other duties as assigned by supervision. Responsibilities Level 1: * Read and understand work order requirements. * Identify parts using printed and/or electronic pictures. * Must be willing to work overtime, when required, including weekends. * Working directly with Management, Production Support, and Quality department personnel. * Is trained in the Ultra C-Lean/6s process and ensures department personnel are following the process. * Participates in the Operator Verification Procedure to ensure compliance. * Participates in Root Cause and Corrective Actions. * Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas. * Adhere to all safety requirements and assist with the enforcement compliance. * Handles customer supplied product with care. * Maintain and reinforce ORIZON's quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations * Manages time appropriately so that production, quality, and delivery schedules are met. * Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strives to maintain good relations with others. * Responds quickly to inquiries and follows up as needed. * Embraces change to ensure overall success of the company. * Must wear any/all PPE including protective gloves and boots, as well as chemical resistant suits and respirators as required. Qualifications Level 1: * Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills and have the ability to provide written and verbal instructions and present information clearly * Must be able to pass basic skills assessment for Microsoft Excel and also demonstrate basic skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. * Must have the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. * Must demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts * Must be able to pay attention to detail. * Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. * Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.

Kodiak Freight is seeking a Semi-Trailer Technician to support our growing asset-based fleet. This role works directly alongside our Head Mechanic, focusing primarily on trailer maintenance, repair, and preventative upkeep across our Flatbed, RGN, and Conestoga equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced with trailer systems, tires, brakes, decking, and general repairs that keep equipment safe, compliant, and road-ready. Primary Responsibilities:Trailer Maintenance & Repair Perform routine and corrective maintenance on Flatbed, RGN, and Conestoga trailers Inspect and repair: Flooring, decking, and structural components Tie-downs, winches, straps, rails, and load securement systems Conestoga tarping systems, frames, rollers, and hardware Conduct DOT-related inspections and address trailer compliance issues Assist with welding, grinding, and fabrication as needed (basic to intermediate) Preventative Maintenance Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs for trailers Identify early wear or damage to minimize downtime Maintain maintenance logs and service documentation Coordinate repair priorities with the Head Mechanic and Dispatch Tires & Running Gear Perform tire repair and replacement (trailer tires) Inspect and service brakes, hubs, bearings, suspension, and axles Assist with air system troubleshooting related to trailers Shop & Fleet Support Assist with parts inventory and organization Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Support fleet readiness during peak project or seasonal demand Provide roadside or yard support when necessary (local) Qualifications & Experience 2+ years of experience working on semi-trailers or heavy equipment Strong working knowledge of: Flatbed and specialty trailers (RGN, Conestoga preferred) Trailer braking systems, tires, and suspension Ability to use shop tools, air tools, jacks, torches, and diagnostic equipment Basic welding or fabrication experience preferred Familiarity with DOT standards and inspection requirements Strong attention to detail and safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred (Not Required) Prior experience in flatbed or heavy-haul environments Mechanical certifications (ASE a plus, not required) CDL (Class A or B) is a plus but not required Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Full benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision Employer-matched retirement plan Paid time off Stable, year-round work with a growing fleet Sims Global offers a complete and competitive benefit package designed to meet individual and family needs.
