Founded in 1981 by Bernard K. Teachout, a former Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy, B.K. Teachout Investigations served the greater Flint area, providing uniformed security officers and private investigators.
Cozart started with the company in 1985 as a security officer, working his way up through the business into the position of President.
In 1995, Bernard Teachout retired and sold the company to Joseph R. Cozart.
In April 2008, the Troy office expanded and moved to Southfield.
In December 2008, Teachout Security Solutions acquired Recon Management Group, LLC, located in Bingham Farms.
