Technical Sales Specialist, Disease State, Massachusetts ()
The TSS-Disease State will be a highly motivated individual with proven sales experience within the life Sciences industry. They are responsible for the direct selling activities of Client products and services within their defined market specialism, delivering annual revenue targets and focusing on establishing new and existing client relationships. The TSS-Disease State will develop a consultative selling approach offering a value proposition to the customer experience. The TSS-Disease State will win opportunities by providing customers with intellectual input into project design drawing on their own scientific acumen and pulling in other sourcing expertise if required. The market will recognize the Client TSS-Disease State as offering best in class scientific/product knowledge, an unmatched understanding of customer needs and highly specialized service. The TSS will primarily support northeast US.
Responsibilities
Direct responsibility for growth of Client products within the disease state business unit to meet defined revenue targets
Develop an annual account plan for assigned market segment and report quarterly progress
Responsibility for sales and revenue forecasting in defined market specialism
Develop and implement strategies for the growth of existing key disease state customers
Proactively seek out new opportunities for Client products and services with new clients
Develop and maintain an extensive market knowledge of your specialism
Develop a detailed knowledge of competitors, their activities and business risk
Maintain up to date and accurate records within SFDC
Provide accurate sales reporting and forecasting of future opportunities
Engage effectively with other teams and individuals within Client to drive enquiries forward and provide clients with the information they need as efficiently as possible
Manage customer expectations with effective communication - utilizing on-site discussions, telephone/video communication and written communication
A focus on continual improvement of scientific knowledge and new developments in defined specialism
Communicate effectively with the management team by providing regular reports and forecasts on the progress made towards achieving your business targets.
Contribute to Client future product development through effective communication of market trends and unmet customer needs.
Represent the defined specialism as a subject matter expert at exhibitions, conferences, and marketing functions.
Requirements
Degree in Life Sciences preferred, PhD highly desirable
Significant business development experience in pharmaceutical biotech and/or CRO space
Proven track record in sales
Demonstrated ability to grow customer accounts

Role Overview:
As an L&D Sales Enablement Consultant, you will design, deliver, and continuously improve learning programmes that empower our sales teams to perform at their best. This role bridges onboarding, sales enablement, and advanced sales training, ensuring our consultants have the skills, tools, and confidence to succeed in a competitive market. You will act as a strategic partner to the business, aligning learning initiatives with revenue goals and driving measurable impact.
Core Responsibilities
Onboarding & Induction:
Develop and deliver engaging onboarding programmes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the business and rapid ramp-up to productivity.
Create learning pathways that cover company culture, systems, processes, and foundational sales skills.
Sales Enablement:
Partner with Sales Leadership to identify capability gaps and design targeted enablement solutions.
Build and maintain resources (playbooks, toolkits, e-learning modules) that support consultants throughout the sales cycle.
Implement best practices for prospecting, client engagement, negotiation, and closing.
Advanced Sales Training:
Deliver expert-level training for experienced consultants, focusing on consultative selling, strategic account management, and market positioning.
Facilitate workshops and coaching sessions to enhance performance and drive revenue growth.
Performance Measurement:
Track and analyse the effectiveness of learning programmes using KPIs and feedback loops.
Continuously refine content based on data insights and evolving business needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with Sales Leaders, Talent Acquisition, and HR to ensure alignment between learning initiatives and business objectives.
Act as a trusted advisor on learning strategy and sales capability development.
Skills & Experience:
Experience in recruiting, L&D, Sales Enablement, or Sales Training within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Strong understanding of the sales lifecycle and recruitment industry (or similar consultative sales models).
Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
Ability to design blended learning solutions (classroom, virtual, e-learning).
Data-driven mindset with experience in measuring learning impact.

As a Senior Sales Engineer in the fast‑growing Data Security Group (DSG) you will be one of the most important members of the Proofpoint sales team. You will become a trusted advisor to both the Specialist Account Manager you are paired with, as well as our current and future customers. Your day‑to‑day
Drive high levels of customer satisfaction
Collaborate with the ATG Sales Specialists & Account Teams to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies
Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects in person, and be their main technical point of contact throughout the process
Work closely with customers/prospects for technical discovery, as well as planning, execution and wrap up of Proof‑of‑Concept (POC) and Production Evaluations
You will design and champion complex People‑Centric Security solutions encompassing the Data Security portfolio, including a full Data Loss Prevention suite (email, endpoint, cloud and web), Insider Risk and Data Security Posture Management
You may, occasionally, be called upon to assist in professional services deployments, technical training and to present at or attend industry seminars and/or trade shows
Work collaboratively with other groups, including Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management, to ensure the effective operation of the team, achieve technical win, and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
Provide valuable customer insight and real‑world experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development (Engineering) teams to help keep our solutions the best in the industry
Develop and deliver training presentations to peers, account managers, and other teams within Proofpoint
Contribute across all corporate communication channels, write and help upkeep internal documentation and training
Help develop solutions to common challenges and establish processes within the team, broader group, and across the sales engineering organization
Job Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of proven track record and experience selling solutions as a Sales Engineer and/or related areas; ideally in the Data Security, DSPM, and Insider Risk areas
Good understanding of the Cybersecurity market landscape and competition, ideally in the Data Security, DSPM, and Insider Risk areas
Expertise in one or more core security solutions and technologies, such as Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint Security, Isolation, and DSPM
Must have a good understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities of a sales engineer
Strong technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to see and present “the Big Picture,” uncover business challenges, and architect a solution to solve customer business issues
Must be able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high energy environment
Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude
Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
CISSP or similar industry certification preferred
