We will train you to become a great Surgical Periodontal Dental Assistant and our (unique) Global Training program allows you to see how/what all departments do to support you in your role. Some of our Dental Assistants have moved into roles as Clinical Team Leads, Clinical Administrators, and even Hygienists. We give plenty of support and we're with you every step of the way! You start your BDC journey with a 15-day Global Training and your own Ambassador to walk you through it all. Our intention during the beginning days is to introduce you to BDC's entire service, culture mindset and give you customized and or individualized training needed to master your role as a Surgical Periodontal Dental Assistant. Our Clinical department is very busy, so we need someone who is: Reliable and team orientated. Out of the box thinker and collaborative to support our growth. Empathic and compassionate. High level of professional presence. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Open to learn all about technologies that will enhance our patient care and service. Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software. Here's an example of what a Dental Assistant might do in a day: Utilize our radios and follow our SOP for use. Full understanding and proper use of our Prosthetic forms. Assist with lab case management. Adhering to all OSHA/sterilization and infection control protocols. Clinical hands on by procedure. Assisting with our New Patient experience - giving them tours of our Practice upon arrival. Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on. Professionally being able to hold space for anxious patients during the time in the chair, as well as being their advocate to properly explain their financial responsibilities, if needed. If not familiar with Ascend, participate in training to enhance your overall knowledge of our practice software. Develop the skill to understand patient's status, how to set appointment while in ops and that future procedures are correctly entered. Comfortability with Invisalign appointments and treatment/ iTero scans. We happily provide training for both as needed. Learn and master "A", "B", and "C" dismissals. Participating and helping run morning or afternoon huddles for your Provider and their Patient Coordinators/Scheduler. When necessary, prepping the daily huddle sheet with your team's Scheduler. Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value. Following our protocol of "proper handoff" of patients to the front desk for check out. Take ownership of appointment flow - keeping appointments on-time and helping to manage the Provider's schedule. Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Proudly sharing our service with others. Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all can receive their check exercise bonus! Generate and review reports, when directed. Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance, when directed to further support your Doctor and meet hourly production goals. Make sure treatment plans are in proper order within Ascend. Always follow our "front stage" behavior. Take any necessary X-rays or wellness scans as directed by our Providers. Assist the periodontist during procedures such as implant placement, scaling and root planning, bone grafts, and gum surgeries. Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized and treatment rooms are clean and fully stocked before and after each procedure. Welcome patients, review medical histories, and prepare them for treatment Take and process dental radiographs ( periapical, bitewing, panoramic, Cone beam CT) Chart periodontal measurements, treatment details, and update patient records in the system. Set up trays and materials needed for the procedure type and the doctor's preferences. Provide patients with verbal and written post-operative instructions and assist with follow-up care, including suture removal if needed. Treatment planning (entering into the computer). Coordinate with front office for patient scheduling, referrals, and treatment planning support. Clean and maintain dental equipment; report any issues for repair promptly. Set up operatory, set up trays and materials needed for sedation cases. We're looking for someone who has: 3 or more years' experience in a Dental Assistant position. Flexibility regarding scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Most Dental Assistants work every other Saturday. Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced Practice. Excellent attention to detail and high follow through. A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Collaborative and comfortable in communications. Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability work with a diverse group of people. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed. We expect you to be personally responsible for being on-time and present for every shift you work, and always willing to go the extra mile for our patients! Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software. If you have dental experience, great! If not, any customer service or experience in the hospitality industry may be relatable to our practice needs and help you succeed in this role. Here's an example of what a Hygiene Assistant, might do in a day: Assisting in opening or closing clinical side to Practice. Calling patients in from reception for treatment. Conduct patient experience tours, interview and give new patient notecards. Responsible in taking x-rays/wellness scans. Set up Hygiene rooms for next patient care appointment. Break down rooms after care, following all OSHA protocols. Taking impressions, making whitening trays and night guards. Delivering whitening trays/night guards to patients with care instructions. Sterilization duties and following all OSHA protocols. Lab clean up, when needed. Following Practice closing procedures. Filling out daily log sheets. Honor and enhance patient relationships. Follow Practice radio SOP. Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on. Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value. Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review, or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Proudly sharing our service with others. Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all can receive their check exercise! We're looking for someone who has: 3 or more years experience in a customer service environment. Flexibility in regards to scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and high follow through. A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.
