Our intention during the beginning days is to introduce you to BDC's entire service, culture mindset and give you customized and or individualized training needed to master your roll as a PatientCoordinator.

Our Front Desk department is very busy so we need someone who is:

Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software.
Heres an example of what a PatientCoordinator might do in a day:
Educate our patients about the details of their treatment plan and associated fees after the Dentist has diagnosed and reviewed their options with them. You potentially clarify what the patient may have heard or "think" they heard.
Help patients understand their dental insurance benefits. This is in collaboration with our Dental Insurance team who are readily available to assist you. Accurately calculate how much insurance will pay for the cost of their needed care. Review with patients their financial responsibility based on any Insurance pre-determinations.
Work with outside patient care financing companies to give our patients a wide range of financial options.
Send Pre-determinations to Patient's Insurance companies. Keeping eye on their timely return to move forward with patient's care.
Collaborate with our financial team to address and collect patient balances when they are in set to return to the Practice for care.
Ability to respond to live chats or website leads as they may come thru during the day.
Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on.
Professionally being able to hold space for anxious patients during the check out process, as well as being their advocate to properly explain their financial responsibilities.
Answer incoming calls when appropriate, not with a patient, as calls may come thru our Call Center.
Correctly schedule future appointments for patients checking out to ensure doctors and hygienists are focusing on caring for our patients. Ensuring patient's are scheduled with the future time needed for their treatment.
Answer treatment questions patients have both before and after their visit.
Participating and essentially running morning or afternoon huddles for your Provider and their Assistants. Sharing huddle sheets daily with our Admin team.
Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value.
Follow up via email or text with patients who havent scheduled their treatment yet.
Ensuring our payment policy is being honored when patients are scheduled.
Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review, or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Proudly sharing our service with others.
Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all can receive their check exercise bonus!
Generate and review reports, when directed.
Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance, when directed to further support your Doctor and meet hourly production goals.
We're looking for someone who has:
3 or more years experience in a dental front desk position.
Flexibility in regards to scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Most PatientCoordinators work every other Saturday.
Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced Practice.
Excellent attention to detail and high follow thru.
The ability to calculate percentages accurately and quickly using basic math skills. Comfortability in both.
A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Collaborative and comfortable in communications.
Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability work with a diverse group of people.
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.

We have an immediate opening for a Patient Services Coordinator II to join our RMA of New York team at our Downtown practice. The schedule is working Full-Time Monday through Friday, daytime hours. This full-time (40 hours a week) day shift position requires one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) shift a month and two holidays a year at our Madison Ave location. When working on the weekend and/or holiday the hours are 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pay range for this position is $26.00-$31.00 per hour.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our “job.” In general, the Patient Services Coordinator II is responsible for:
Interacting with patients; practicing effective, courteous communication
Working the front desk
Scheduling patient appointments and in-office procedures
Managing the physician's schedules and preparing letters and reports and handling special projects as assigned
Handle all letters for patients and assist with patient requests related to their treatment at our practice
Act as the key liaison with the MD, clinical, and other staff members to ensure all administrative functions are completed

In addition, the standardized participant will be involved in group training and/or mentorship of entry-level standardized participants. The standardized participant work will be varied. It is part-time, as needed. High school education is required and college preferred.
The standardized participant must be able to independently, consistently and accurately portray clinical situations. Roles may include patient, family member or health care worker. Portrayals may be specific emotions, behaviors, disease symptoms or physical exam findings.
