In addition to the standard tasks of a Box Office Student Worker, this position assists with coordinating student staff and ushers, ticket sales and running of front of house operations for events managed by the Department of Fine & Performing Arts. Work locations are Pfeiffer Hall, the Wentz Concert Hall, the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, and Madden Theatre. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist with onboarding new box office student workers, such as training, conducting secondary interviews with those chosen by management, etc. 2. Compile the desk shift schedule and implement it into Sling, as instructed by management. 3. Serve as a Day of Show point-person to other student workers as well as to patrons. 4. Coordinate and communicate with volunteer ushers in a professional manner, such as arranging the usher sign-ups, and emailing the ushers with any announcements or reminders. 5. Process and sell tickets for performances through online ticketing system with customers in person, on the phone, or by processing online orders. 6. Interact with event patrons in a professional manner. 7. Prepare for performing arts events by prepping will call, ticket sales, usher sign-ins, and/or venue set-up. 9. The Fine Arts Production Staff is responsible for the day to day operation of Pfeiffer Auditorium, Wentz Concert Hall, Madden Black Box Theater and The Theater in Meiley-Swallow Hall. Events range from full scale rock concerts and community events to small lectures and rehearsals. The work schedule is event driven and is designed to work around class schedules. The work is both technical and labor intensive. Work focuses on the set up, strike, and operating of equipment for each individual event, as well as Venue and Equipment upkeep and maintenance. The Assistant Technical Director provides direct support for campus and external rental events in Wentz Concert Hall, Madden Black Box Theatre, Meiley Swallow Theatre, Pfeiffer Auditorium and Heininger Auditorium - with the exception of designing academic Theatre Department productions. This is not a faculty or academic teaching position. Instead, it's a highly collaborative, service-oriented role focused on ensuring exceptional onsite technical support, efficient venue operations, and a positive experience for everyone who steps on our stages - from students and faculty to guest artists and external partners.
