    The **Machine Learning Engineer II** will be a member of the Learning and Active Perception (LEAP) group in AV's MacCready Works division and support the development of a variety of innovative computer vision capabilities (object detection, classification, localization, and tracking) and other image/video analytics for defense and commercial applications. These development efforts require a range of skills and tools across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines including but not limited to data management, computer vision, machine learning, optimization, and deep convolutional neural networks. This position will span multiple stages of the development process including requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and validation and verification testing. This specific role also involves on-site support for experimentation and fielded systems requiring a significant amount of extended travel, both domestic and international. **Duties** - Support development of computer vision and machine learning (ML) algorithms capable of object detection, classifying, localizing, and tracking objects of interest from a variety of stationary and mobile sensor platforms with the primary purpose of real-time automated target recognition (ATR) - Perform visual imagery data science to inform data collection, data labeling, and data selection for training deep computer vision ML algorithms, train the algorithms using the data, and validate data selection and algorithm design through a series of purpose-designed experiments. The maintenance operators are responsible for the operation of sewage pumping stations and perform a variety of skilled mechanical maintenance, repair and installation on equipment at Frederick County's treatment, pumping, and distribution systems. This includes working on pumps, motors, valves, compressors, hydraulic systems and other equipment essential to delivering quality water and wastewater services to the community. Direction may be received from Maintenance Operators at higher classifications; supervision is received from the Assistant Chief Operator or Chief Operator-Maintenance. If you are a person who wants to make a difference, give back to your community, and be a voice for change, apply to Frederick County Government today. * Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment at sewage pumping stations, wastewater and water treatment facilities, booster pump stations, hydropneumatics systems, and groundwater supply wells to ensure safe and efficient performance * Operate Wastewater Pumping Stations and their associated systems including pumps, piping, motors, electrical controls, flow metering, chemical feed, air compressors, aeration systems, screening and grit removal in accordance with regulatory standards and operational protocols * Monitor and collect operational data from meters and gauges to assess the performance and condition of treatment equipment * Analyze collected data to identify trends, observe and detect variations in operating conditions, and support decision-making for maintenance and repairs * Maintain wastewater chemical feed systems for odor and hydrogen sulfide control; calculate and adjust chemical feed rates based on real time monitoring results * Maintain various equipment including conveyors, grit screws, belt presses, pumps, motors, grinders, screening equipment, filters, valves, flowmeters, and associated piping and fittings * Support the installation of new equipment such as conveyors, grit screws, belt presses, pumps, motors, grinders, screening equipment, valves, compressors, flow meters, and associated piping and fittings * Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment requiring a CDL including a combination sewer cleaning and hydro-excavation truck, dump truck and 9-ton hydraulic crane truck, as needed * Operate motorized equipment such as cranes, hoists and aerial lifts in a safe and efficient manner * Identify performance issues with pumps, motors, controls, and related systems, and perform necessary repairs * Assist with maintaining municipal well systems that supply drinking water to local communities * Maintain accurate maintenance logs and enter data into computerized maintenance management systems * Use a computer, smartphone, or table to complete work orders, maintenance checklists, order material, complete credit card reports, and submit timesheets * Compile and prepare operating reports for submission * Adhere to all safety procedures, regulations, and training requirements, including lockout/tagout, fall prevention and confined space policies * Assist in training of newly hired Operators * Perform other related duties as required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of professional experience in CAD drafting for engineering, architecture, or construction projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and familiarity with MicroStation. Strong understanding of engineering drawing conventions, symbols, scales, and layouts. Experience preparing and maintaining detailed design drawings, schematics, and as-builts. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to interpret engineering sketches, field notes, and markups accurately. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical teams. Experience supporting transportation, government, or public sector clients (WMATA experience is highly desirable). Familiarity with WMATA's CAD standards, design templates, and drawing control systems. Knowledge of engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, or electrical design preferred.
