MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Engineer to join our team onsite in Norfolk, Virginia. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provide remote and onsite Tier 3 support to NCTE Range end-users, resolving complex IT issues with professional guidance and efficiency.
* Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues involving system configurations, network connectivity, and Linux networking for Range POR systems.
* Demonstrate a strong mastery of Red Hat (6-9) including filesystems, LVM, and the operation and updating of Red Hat Satellite.
* Manage DNS and DHCP services across Windows and Linux environments, including familiarity with Active Directory.
* Support virtual Linux systems using VMWare ESXi and assist with the maintenance of backup systems.
* Ensure strict compliance with security policies while authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT systems and processes.
* Ability to travel up to 25% and maintain a proactive approach to Red Hat patching and environment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant IT systems experience
* Experience in system administration, with proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments
* Must have CompTIA Security+ CE
* VMware, Windows, or Linux Operating System (OS) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Clearance Requirements:
* Must have current/active DOD Secret security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret.
Physical Requirements:
* The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
