Based on 4 ratings
A decent paying professional job with benefits.
Newsrooms are understaffed and employees are underpaid. Low pay, no team building, no incentives, no oversight, underqualified management. Low pay compared to market averages. Slow willingness to shift into current media landscapes. Management is ancient, set in their ways and not innovative.
None.
Performance evaluations. There needs to be more teambuilding in individual markets. Pay people at a competitive wage, and monitor individual newsrooms for consistency and effectiveness. Bring in experienced News Directors and Assistant News Directors. Pay people and reward consistent hard work.
I didn't.
The other competitor in the TV market blows out Bahakel when it comes to pay.
They do a decent job but some reporters prioritize certain communities and have a tendency to write sensational and opinionated as opposed to presenting facts from both sides. And management allows this.
Knowing I'm a source of accurate unbiased information for the community. The same accuracy and unbiased reporting is not reciprocated throughout the organization. At least in the Montgomery Market.
They offer benefits I guess.
Where do I even begin. This is an absolutely terrible company from top to bottom. Completely mismanaged, they don’t care about their employees at all…they underpay and overwork their news staff.
Nothing
By removing most people at the corporate level in Charlotte.
I didn’t
Very low…compared to what other people in the market make, it’s extremely low
I think it’s probably something they need to take a closer look at, but in my opinion, they don’t care at all.
I loved what I did until I had to work for ABC Columbia (Bahakel). That place sucked the joy out of news for me.
Amount of PTO/Floating time as well as sick time.
Production employees severely underpaid in comparison to other stations in the area.
