Performs a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of trades workers. TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist skilled trade workers as assigned. * Unload, move, and set up materials. Distribute materials as needed. * Prepare layout areas by properly measuring and marking.
* Clean and prepare specific work areas.
* Operate various tools, including a shovel, sledgehammer, pickaxe, wrecking bar, concrete saw, chain saw, water pump, air compressor, hand tools, chipper, grinder, sander, paving breaker, jackhammer, and air wrench.
* Mix, smooth, and finish concrete.
* Motion equipment operator assisting with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
* Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, pain, or stucco through a hose to clean, coat, and seal surfaces.
* Levels earth to grade specifications.
* Mop, brush, or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection.
* Apply caulk compounds by hand or with a caulking gun to seal crevices.
* Grind, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring.
* Demolish building, saw lumber, dismantle forms, remove projections from concrete, mount pipe changes, and cut and attach insulating materials.
* Opportunity to become an approved driver providing crew drop off and pick up for additional pay.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience
* Prior experience preferred
* Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
* Ability to remain flexible as assignments and tasks change.
* Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
* Ability to perform basic math as needed for inventory.
