The Field Specialist coordinates and oversees work at the field site, providing quality service to the customer. You will provides the planning necessary for the job including instructions to the crew on heavy duty gas turbines or centrifugal compressors. Coordinates the clean-up, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job.
As a Field Specialist Mechanical you will be responsible for:
Performing in autonomy some of the Installation and/or Maintenance activities of HGT or CECO equipment in the Field at Customer Sites.
Being responsible to perform minor/major maintenance of equipment following the Service Site Quality Check Lists and procedures.
Being the primary contact to work with the Customer Representative and Site Team to coordinate activities at the Customer Job Site.
Providing records of all activities accomplished at Customer Site to the Baker Hughes Supervisor and promotes and maintains good team relations.
Executing all required responsibilities safely by following all Service applicable processes and procedures.
Performing other related duties as required according to the specified scope of work. He/she may be able to provide limited troubleshooting on the equipment under maintenance and/or installation in the Field.
Conducting all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes Core Values (HSE, Quality and Compliance).

Have Two-year Technical Degree preferred and industry experience and Turbomachinery Product Services product line training required.
Have at least 2yrs of experience with mechanical maintenance procedures with heavy duty gas turbines or centrifugal compressors

Position Purpose:

Position Purpose:
Provides day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump/booster station operations, routine lab tests and basic corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Operates equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units following process control procedures. Monitors and observes operating conditions, records observations and data in shift log. Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure.
Performs routine CLAIR (cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, inspection and minor repair) on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters and belt presses. Collects water, wastewater, industrial waste, groundwater, sludge, residuals and/or gas samples according to schedule. Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process and odor control units. Prepares chemical solutions, monitors supplies and recommends reorder.
Performs routine lab tests and prepares reports per procedure.
Performs routine instrument calibration for portable meters including, but not limited to, dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S, percent oxygen, lower explosive limit.
Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored. Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
Performs manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies. Operates vehicles, mobile equipment and material handling equipment for operational and maintenance purposes.
Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, and/or paint.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $57,100.00 - $136,800.00.
