Position overview: Crispelli's Bakery is a growing retail and wholesale bakery looking for an evening baker. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the craft of artisan baking, being part of a close-knit team, and continuously learning and improving their skillset. While previous commercial baking or culinary experience is necessary, this position carries with it an opportunity for training, growth, and development for the right candidate.
Our evening bakers perform all of the tasks necessary to ensure that our doughs are finished and baked properly. Our menu includes various breads such as French baguettes, ciabatta, rye, brioche and various naturally leavened loaves - all in an artisan setting, using traditional techniques. In addition to breads, the bakers are also responsible for baking croissants, Danish, cookies and muffins. Responsibilities:
Managing fermentation of all doughs using a flexible production schedule
Preparing all pans, racks, trays, and equipment to allow for production
Baking breads using both rack and deck ovens
Maintaining communication with other bakers and management to ensure that all responsibilities and expectations are being met
Maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace and ensuring that all cleaning and restocking checklists are complete at the end of each shift.
Requirements:
Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds and to stand for long periods of time
Should be able to maintain good working relationships with team members
Have strong time management skills
