Baker Tilly company history timeline

1953

In 1953, Mr Berk left the partnership to continue his career at Berk Kampen, a family-run business in Kampen, well-known under the name BK as a pot and pan producer.

1994

Baker Tilly, in Colombia, was founded in 1994, offering services to exercise the accounting profession and related services to a group of local companies.

2001

In 2001, yet another small change was made: the official name of our organization became Berk, where necessary followed by the addition of Accountants & Belastingadviseurs.

2008

Since 1 January 2008, the legal form of Berk has been changed to a public limited company.

2009

On June 1, 2009, the former Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP changed its name to Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, becoming the only United States member of the Baker Tilly International network to be branded as "Baker Tilly".

2014

In 2014, Baker Tilly Berk celebrated its 100 year anniversary.

2015

In the year 2015 it was authorized to change its name to use the prefix Baker Tilly, in order to work for the positioning of the brand worldwide.

2018

From December 3rd 2018 onwards Baker Tilly Berk will be called Baker Tilly.

19, 2018) – In honor of Black History Month, accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) is pleased to sponsor the Twin Cities’ chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants’ (NABA) third annual Black History Month celebration.

2020

Baker Tilly US, LLP merged with the California based accounting firm Squar Milner and acquired the New York based firm Margolin, Winer & Evens effective November 1, 2020.

2021

On September 20, 2021 Baker Tilly, US, LLP acquired Charleston, WV based accounting and consulting firm Arnett Carbis Toothman.
