1966

Leo Beebe, played by Josh Lucas, was Ford's director of special vehicles/PR specialist, and is most remembered for making a controversial decision during the 1966 Le Mans race.

1967

Among many accomplishments throughout his tenure at the company, he is linked to launching the Ford Mustang in 1967 and praised as a great salesman.

1970

The following New Holland history is condensed from The Sperry New Holland Line, April 1970, (75th anniversary) and New Holland, Our First 100 Years,

1973

In 1973 the company became known as Sperr New Holland.

1984

In 1984 Ford Tractor Operations had worldwide sales of $1.25 billion while New Holland reported sales of $715 million for the most recent fiscal year.

1985

Ford Motor Company acquired New Holland in 1985 and combined it with Ford Tractor Operations to form Ford New Holland.

1989

In 1989–90 Ford acquired Jaguar, a British manufacturer of luxury cars.

2008

Ford started selling its Mazda shares in 2008 and completely divested in 2015. It sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors Ltd. of India in 2008.

2009

The loans would allow the auto companies to continue operating through March 2009, when they were required to demonstrate “financial viability” or return the money.

Able to avoid bankruptcy—for which both General Motors and Chrysler filed—Ford experienced increased sales and market share in 2009.

2010

In 2010 the automaker sold Volvo to the Chinese company Zhejiang Geely Holding.

2016

In 2016 Ford Smart Mobility was created to develop car-sharing ventures and self-driving vehicles, among other initiatives.
