The Buffet Attendant / Food Runner is primarily responsible for setting up, breaking down and maintaining buffet items, ensuring that they are fresh, hot, and appealing. Reporting to the Onsite Event Manager and working closely with the rest of the onsite Contigo Catering event team, this role is similar to that of a server at a restaurant, but with a constantly changing environment. Location
Our office, kitchen, and warehouse are located in Southeast Austin at 3709 Promontory Point Drive, Suite B201, Austin Texas 78744, but this role works almost entirely onsite at our client events. As such, this role involves travel to and presence at various event spaces throughout and around Austin, particularly downtown, Westlake, and Dripping Springs. Reliable transportation is required. Occasionally, travel to event locations such as Marfa is required, and team support for transport is provided.
Schedule
Part-time, non-exempt position. Hours generally fall between 12:00 pm and 12 am Tuesday through Saturday, though exact hours vary based on event schedules. Hours fluctuate heavily based on season. Night and weekend availability is definitely required.
Compensation
Base pay of $20 per hour, commensurate with experience. 1099 contractor.
Day-to-Day Ownership
This is an opportunity to impact and elevate the entire company and individual lives on a daily basis. The Onsite Event Staff's day-to-day will reflect the specifics of each event and involves being on your feet to attend to the needs of our catering clients, but duties can generally be designated within and held accountable to the following:
> Food Service:

Reads and executes a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and follows through with set up and service as described
Follows proper steps of service to ensure company standards of hospitality are met
Serves plated meals to guests and/or monitors and replenishes food stations or buffets

Summary of Essential Job Functions
Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions
Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy.
Input the order into the POS system
When complete, retrieve order up to 30 lbs. from kitchen, confirm its accuracy, lift and deliver to guest along with appropriate condiments.
Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specialty coffees.
Operate the POS sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the check.
Effective communication with the kitchen staff regarding orders/guest needs
Clear, bus and reset tables
Comply with all PM Hotels cash handling and house bank contract policies and procedures.
Present the check to guests promptly.
Take pride in the overall look and feel of the hotel assuring cleanliness and conditions of the bar and surroundings are always at their peak
Contribute to a fun, energized and comfortable working environment as an active member of the Sheraton team
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Description
To ensure proper set up of meeting and Banquet facilities by communicating effectively to associates and handling guests requests on the floor. This is a full time position with varying shifts.
Responsibilities
Set up, stock, and maintain meeting rooms
Refresh meeting rooms during meals and coffee breaks
Complete final breakdown of meeting room
Clean and return equipment to proper location

Qualifications

You Should Have
Prefer (2) or more years of bar experience in a high volume fine or casual dining restaurant
A valid TABC Certification and Food Handlers Certification is required and must be obtained before entering this position
Proven knowledge and understanding of craft/creative cocktails and wine
PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.
Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend, climb and carry objects as necessary.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
