Position Summary
The BanquetServer will provide a range of services, including concessions, buffet, tableside, and cocktail, with event styles varying from casual to gala. Servers will assist with Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner events and must have flexible availability for on-call/event-based scheduling. Responsibilities include set-up, execution, and breakdown of banquet and concession-style events, while ensuring clear communication with guests and the culinary team. Servers are expected to stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and teamwork to ensure event success.
This role will pay a hourly rate of $16.00 to $17.00

About the Venue
The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.
Responsibilities
* Prepare event spaces by creating and setting up roll ups, laying tablecloths and linens, arranging place settings and more.
* Provide daily service by attending to event guests at beverage stations, coffee carts, concession stands, grab-and-go carts, buffets, plated meals, and more.
* Ensure food items are served promptly and at the correct temperature as they become available from the kitchen.
* Maintain neat presentation of all items with no spill-over.
* Pre-bus and fully bus tables as needed during peak periods and after service.
* Stock beverage stations as necessary (e.g., ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc.).
* Respond promptly to customer needs and requests.
* Communicate effectively with bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and a positive guest experience.
* Build and maintain knowledge of bar offerings to accurately answer patron questions.
* Stay informed about the menu and any special items being offered.
* Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
* Maintains availability to work during many peak periods.
Qualifications
* Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event-based schedule.
* Must provide regular and consistent written availability to management.
* High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related food service experience required.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Must obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required compliance trainings.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
* Strong communication skills to interact with employees, management, and guests in a professional and respectful manner.

THE ROLE
The BanquetServer is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquet events and functions. This role focuses on ensuring a positive guest experience through attentive service, professionalism, and attention to detail. BanquetServers work closely with the Banquet Captain, Banquet Manager, and other event staff to ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown of events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.
Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.
Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.
Assist with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary.
Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.
Establish and maintain positive client relationships.
Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event.
Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set up banquet room as instructed by Banquet Leader to include linen, service-ware and glassware.
Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and resort expectations.
Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Serve food and beverages in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Leader to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal and function.
Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Captain's specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Doral Golf Resort & Spa from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as result there will be times when our associates in Operations will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. About the Venue
The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.
Responsibilities
Prepare event spaces by creating and setting up roll ups, laying tablecloths and linens, arranging place settings and more.
Provide daily service by attending to event guests at beverage stations, coffee carts, concession stands, grab-and-go carts, buffets, plated meals, and more.
Ensure food items are served promptly and at the correct temperature as they become available from the kitchen.
Maintain neat presentation of all items with no spill-over.
Pre-bus and fully bus tables as needed during peak periods and after service.

Respond promptly to customer needs and requests.
