Job DescriptionPosition Title: Banquet Event Server Position Reports to: Director of Event Operations with additional supervision from Clubhouse Assistant Managers Employee Categories: Part Time or Full Time Year Round
Pay Range: $20.00 to $21.00/hour
The Banquet Event Server will provide exceptional service in all event spaces to members and their respective guests. Complete the preparation, execution, and closeout of scheduled events in an array of the Club's event areas. Enhance event experiences by following proper service procedures and by anticipating member and guest needs. The Club stives to preserve a strong collaborative team environment with self-motivated individuals. Characteristics of a successful banquet event server include willingness and ability to interact and communicate courteously and politely with members and fellow team members as well as show initiative and pride in the service you are providing while upholding a positive and professional demeanor.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be a productive member of the team by showing up on time, properly groomed and dressed, in a positive frame of mind
Assisting in the preparation, execution, and close out of the scheduled event
Serving and clearing food and beverage
Proper and courteous communication with members and guests
Proper positioning of china, silver and glassware - setting a table
Gathering and setting daily events: placing tables and chairs, setting to specifications provided by manager
Close-out responsibilities-cleaning and re-stocking event areas for use the next day
Attend training classes as announced (i.e. wine training, banquet training)
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of other events taking place across campus
Additional duties/ projects as assigned by management
Required Skills:
Food and beverage knowledge preferred
Exposure to a private club environment preferred
Specialized Knowledge/Licenses Required:
Massachusetts TIPS Certification

Job Summary

Scope of Position
The Banquet Server provides table service to all patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that guests have a pleasant dining experience.
Hourly Staff Schedule Requirements
All staffs are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday thru Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays. All seasonal staff must be aware and able to work all weekends; requesting time off for a holiday weekend may not and will likely not be granted. The more flexible you are the more you can learn, grow, earn. Rate of pay for this position is $25.00 as follows, $5.00 hourly base rate plus $20.00 per hour in service changes inclusive.

Internal: The Banquet Server position reports to the Food & Beverage management team.

Location: We are seeking a Banquet Server for the Waltham Woods located in Waltham, MA.
Principal Function:A Banquet Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events.
Their primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards.
From the setup of banquet spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, they maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality.
Banquet Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real-time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event.
Beyond serving, Banquet Servers contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service.
They are responsible for resetting spaces for subsequent events and ensuring that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately.
Whether it's a formal gala, corporate event, or wedding reception, Banquet Servers are integral in creating a positive impression of the venue and event host, embodying professionalism, efficiency, and a guest-focused attitude.
Essential Responsibilities:Event Setup and Preparation:Prepare banquet rooms according to event specifications, including setting up tables, chairs, linens, and service stations while ensuring all items meet quality and presentation standards.
Service Execution:Provide attentive and professional food and beverage service to guests during events, including serving courses, refilling beverages, and promptly addressing guest needs.
Clean-Up and Reset:Break down and clean event spaces after services, including clearing tables, storing equipment, and resetting the room for the next event while adhering to company cleanliness standards.
Qualifications/Skills:Experience in Food Service or Hospitality:Prior experience as a banquet server, waiter/waitress, or in a similar role in the food and beverage or hospitality industry is preferred.
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment:Strong multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to stay composed and efficient during busy events.
Customer Service Skills:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide a welcoming and accommodating experience for guests.
Physical Stamina and Dexterity:Ability to stand for extended periods, carry heavy trays, and move quickly while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
Other Requirements:Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Overview
The Server will provide ultimate hospitality for guests in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
Skill sets include:
Carrying trays with up to 10 dinner plates,
transporting food and hot and cold beverages to service areas
Can work independently as well as in a team.
Manage catering services and client communications.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $9.24, plus tips.

Responsibilities
Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders.
Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
Provide fine dining level food and beverage service to guests for all events consistent with DLTCC standards of service.
Initiate and maintain friendly and professional contact with guests ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met.
Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with DLTCC standards of service.
Maintain and inventory for both food and beverage stations.
Maintain all event areas and front of house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
Participate in both setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
Ability to work independently during slower times
Perform safe work by helping to provide a safe and clean work environment.
Have a high level of social contact. Ability to work closely with staff and deal often with patrons.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and select holidays.
Must be detail oriented to ensure that work is accurate and complete.
Ability to mutli-task.
Ability to handle and move objects.
Must have a customer-focused, positive and professional attitude.
Ability to read with oral and written communications skills in the English language.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
Must be able to stand for extend periods of time.
Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach out with the body, arms and/or legs.
Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects up to 30 lbs. and 15 lbs. often.
Must be punctual with consistent attendance.
Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent GED strong preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in events, banquets or restaurants is preferred.
Must be at least eighteen years of age to serve alcoholic drinks.
