    The Surgical Technician III performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. This position works under the supervision of the registered nurse in delivering safe, effective care to the patient during the intra operative period. This position effectively interacts with patients and health care team members, while maintaining the surgical department standards; participates in surgical procedures on patients of all age groups, pediatric through geriatrics: may assist in circulating duties under the direct supervision of a qualified registered nurse. Evaluates the identified problems, care provided and patient's responses are reassessed to meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care. Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Supports Professional Governance through engagement and support of the Unit Based Council and other nursing councils. Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
