Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Director of Risk and Compliance has responsibility to implement an interdisciplinary hospital-wide risk management program to provide ongoing assessment of risk and patient safety strategies to minimize potential exposure to loss. Maintains current and accurate loss run. Ensures all system insurance coverage is consistent with best practices and value. Ensures that policy cost and coverages are re-assessed at least annually and makes recommendations for changes as needed. * Identifies and takes appropriate action to correct and/or report ethics and compliance issues or any violation in the facility. Assists in resolution of patient treatment issues, such as refusal of treatment, consent issues, and AMA discharges. * Directs Corporate Compliance and the overall regulatory environment including the legal requirements with which the organization must comply; periodically reviews and updates the Code of Ethics and Conduct policy. Oversees a hotline function to evaluate and respond to complaints, allegations, and problems without fear of retribution. Serves as a resource/educator for Corporate Compliance activities to hospital and medical staff. Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Scheduler/Verifier communicates directly with patients and pre-registers patients for service accurately; ensures that all insurance and financial information is accurate prior to service; communicates financial responsibility to patients and collects upfront payments when required; and communicates directly with physicians and patients to schedule all ordered and tests and surgeries in a timely fashion. Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) provides laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care. The Medical Laboratory Technician must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Performs routine shift start-up, including quality controls and documentation of these controls, performs appropriate shift maintenance of instrumentation. Utilizes specialized knowledge of Laboratory Services principles in performing general duties. * Demonstrates general and specialized knowledge of Laboratory Services principles in the provision of diagnostic services under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, while processing reliable test results to include analysis, calculations and reporting results, utilizing critical skills related to results and the patient's clinical condition. * Performs all procedures utilizing Standard Precautions to minimize the potential for exposure to infectious processes, disposes of all instrumentation, reagents and patient wastes appropriately to minimize exposure potential, including replacing biohazard containers when the are ¾ full. * Assists in quality assurance by utilizing the online Variance reporting and participates in quality control, performance improvement and proficiency testing activities within the Department. * Maintains high degree of competency in the operation of equipment in the performance of Laboratory Services testing to include trouble-shooting, minor repair and notification to necessary parties. * Notifies physician and/or other members of the health care team of corrected results in a timely manner with appropriate documentation in the computer system, and notifies charge nurse of Critical results in a timely manner with immediate reporting, documenting time, name of person and read back verification in the computer system. Required Education and Experience Associate's Degree in related field or current credentials as MLS or CLS Completion of approved training program for Medical Laboratory Technician preferred Clinical laboratory setting experience within the last 10 years Required License/Certifications Must be CLIA qualified for moderate or high complexity testing AMT or ASCP certification or certification eligible
