Sunday River is looking for Lift Operators for our 2025/26 season! Our fun and diverse team of operators works both indoors and outdoors while assisting our guests at the ski lifts. Ski lifts are surprisingly easy to operate and there is no mechanical experience necessary. The ability to ski or snowboard is not required for this position but there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the slopes while working. As a Level 3 Snowmaker, you will be taking on a leadership position on the mountain and be accountable for the efficient and productive operation out on the hill. This includes training snowmakers, performing basic maintenance, and taking on a positive attitude to motivate fellow teammates. Patrollers provide first aid and other necessary assistance to skiers and snowboarders, enforce company skiing safety regulations, complete ongoing training and emergency procedures practice, and perform various trail maintenance tasks. Patrol staff regularly assist in various Mountain Operations departments when needed to ensure reliable service for our guests. Cross-training is encouraged. Assist with dispatch and first-aid room duties. * Patrol assigned mountain areas regularly to ensure that all trails are properly marked, to identify injured, lost, out of control and reckless skiers and snowboarders; to identify existing or potential skiing hazards and to monitor and report on weather/skiing conditions, skiing traffic and the like. * Stop reckless skiers or snowboarders and enforce company skiing safety regulations, including taking of appropriate disciplinary action. Assist with educational efforts related to safe skiing/riding. * Perform a variety of trail maintenance tasks, check trails for hazards, missing signs; put up signs and mark hazards; cut brush; pack down and shovel snow; put up fences and close trails when necessary. * Perform trail opening and closing procedures as assigned. * Search for missing persons and equipment. * Patrol organized racing activities and other special events. * Administer emergency care/first aid to injured skiers and snowboarders; assess condition of and stabilize patient, render appropriate treatment, such as splinting, transport to base area in a toboggan. * Transport uninjured skiers or snowboarders who are having difficulty or have lost or damaged equipment to base area by toboggan or snowmobile. * Answer questions, give directions, etc. * Assist other mountain operations departments in providing a safe and reliable skiing experience to our guests. The Director of the Sugarloaf Competition Center plays a pivotal role in developing and managing all on-snow competitions within the resort. This position encompasses planning, organizing, and executing competitions and races, ensuring these events align with the resort's strategic goals. The Director will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, and operational staff to create an engaging and efficient competitive environment. The Sugarloaf Mountain Bike Gravity Trail Crew is looking for experienced trail builders to join our efforts this summer in expanding Sugarloaf's on-hill trail network and expert level gravity trails. If you enjoy working in a beautiful mountainous setting, take pride in working hard to achieve results, and don't mind getting a little dirty along the way, this is the job for you. Trail Crew team members must have expert-level mountain biking skills and must have at least 1 - 2 seasons of previous experience in trail construction and maintenance. Chainsaw certification or experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right fit. This full-time, summer season role will typically work four 8-hour days per week (typically Monday - Thursday) and may be required to work weekends as needed for mountain bike events. The Sunday River Ski Patrol Director will lead a team that manages on-hill risk, executes mountain rescues, responds to emergencies, and provides a safe and welcoming environment to the public. The Ski Patrol Director is responsible for staff safety and compliance, the financial performance of the department, interdepartmental communication, establishing policy and procedure for the Patrol team, and developing future leaders for the organization.
