Job Overview:

The Starbucks Supervisor is responsible for running an efficient, professional, safe and profitable Starbucks operation following all company standards

Essential Functions:

  • Follows and ensure team follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices
  • Responsible for daily operations
  • Accountable for sales, expenses, and bottom-line profits
  • Ensure team prepares and presents drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar and pastry products to Starbucks standards
  • Follows Starbucks merchandising, product presentations and signing standards
  • Monitor food quality by completing Starbucks checklists
  • Demonstrate a positive role model for Starbucks Simply Service Steps and Magic Selling
  • Support a strong working relationship with store management
  • Provide on-going training, feedback, coaching, and staff motivation to all associates to maximize team performance and satisfaction
  • Maintain role model standards in grooming, professional appearance and communications
  • Meet highest standards of workplace safety, sanitation, and equipment care as set by Health Department and company policy
  • Complete scheduling and weekly payroll to meet Starbucks standards, maximize associate productivity, labor cost control and customer satisfaction
  • Utilize forecasts, daily sales reports and weekly food cost and payroll reports to ensure monthly profit/loss goals are met
  • Assist in preparation and production of all menu items

Qualifications and Competencies:

Job DescriptionJob Title: Barista / Food Service Worker
Department: Chartwells Wingate University
Reports To: Director, Associate Manager, Chef, Hourly Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly
Approved Date: 02/21

SUMMARY:
Responsible for taking orders from customers and expediting coffee-espresso drinks and related
food and beverage items. Handles food according to HACCP guidelines and is aware of minimum
standards for a quality food service operation. Adheres to standard recipes and plating/portion
guidelines. Responsible for accuracy of all assembled orders, maintaining par stocks, ordering
supplies and rotating product for maximum quality. Interacts with customers and other employees in
a friendly and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by managers and/or supervisors.
 Maintains accurate production pars and inventories in the guest service and merchandising
areas.
 Prepares espresso/beverage orders for customers and catering using standard measures
and recipes.
 Completes production and par lists, pre-meal checklists, requisitioning and waste lists.
 Adheres to policies and procedures to ensure consistency in the guest experience.
 Enters orders accurately into the POS devise, accepts cash and charge payments.
Accurately makes change.
 Follows standard procedures for making refunds.
 Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that the cash drawer
is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
 Required to replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining
cleanliness of service area.
QA & SAFETY STANDARDS
 Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper
serving temperatures – follows HACCP standards
 Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
 Handles foods items appropriately during preparation
 Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed
production standards
 Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned
 Cleans equipment, as assigned and in a timely fashion
 Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
 Ensures corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
 Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
 Cleans up spills in the servey, dining area, his/her own work area immediate
 Placement of wet floor sign when applicable.

GUEST SERVICE:
 Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner is all customer and
employee interactions
 Interacts with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
 Greets customers courteously
 Serves customers quickly, Does not allow back-ups or snags in serving lines
 Serves customer food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, in a courteous
demeanor
 Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and explains same to
customers accurately
 Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors and managers
 Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented
manner
 Consistently exhibits the ability to keep up with peak cafeteria hours and does so calmly,
accurately and efficiently
 Checks to ensure that all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
 Serve food neatly and attractively per standard
 Maintains professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed in accordance with
Company and National Brand standards

QUALIFICATIONS
