CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to read, interpret and integrate all processes to ensure consistent, capable parts are manufactured in a production environment. Must have the ability to make all types of required machine/process adjustments, off-sets, tooling, fixturing as well as the ability to set up machines which is required to run accurate first article inspections.
Must have the ability to perform and complete first article inspections utilizing all shop gauging including applicable plate work and visual inspection of parts to ensure proper flow of the process.
Assist others in parts inspection.
Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineering and other functions on processing issues and works as a team to develop a "capable" process to ensure all parts are processed per standards.
Takes leadership role in troubleshooting variations in process and assists other machinists and operators in process problem solving to help facilitate a knowledge building and team environment.
Must have the ability to meet and exceed targeted production goals.
Practices safe work habits, maintains clean working environment, and performs routine preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Team Leader.
Must continually build technical skills in area of expertise which is required to aid the facility in meeting Division targets and goals.
Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
Knowledge of Lean Principles and 5S.
Drives process and lean improvements.
Cross-training and other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Four (4) years of machine shop experience.
Knowledge of machine shop practices, principles and operations.
Ability to read geometrical/dimensional mechanical drawings; use shop mathematics, handbook formulas, with a high competency in use of precision measuring instruments.
High mechanical ability, people skills, willingness to learn, lead, adapt and change with technology.
Knowledge of Manual Lathe, NL3000, Mill turn, Rough Lathe, Finish Lathe, Rework, Grind, Lathe, Okuma, Nakamura.
Intermediate skills and knowledge of Master Cam.
Possess high integrity and ethical standards.
Demonstrates intermediate computer skills.
Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work processes.
Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees, customers and vendors.

· Accurately read 3 dimensional drawings and blueprints and be able to setup manual machines to within tolerance specified to produce products/fixtures.
· Performs machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, to machined parts to specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc.
· Checks machined parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances .
· Make edits to CNC programming at machine controls if needed.
· Must understand GD&T

Requirements
At a minimum, the CNC Machinist must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 2-3 years of proven experience as a Class 1 Machinist or CNC Operator and proven ability to read prints. Associates degree in machining or related field of study, or trade school graduate along with prior Class 1 Machinist or CNC Operator is highly preferred.

What We Are Looking For: Someone to perform basic lathe/milling operations by utilizing medium size machines including manual lathes/mills. Inspect basic/routine parts for defects and wear.
What You Will Do:
Machinist - Performs under direction.
o Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, broaching, and conventional milling and lathe work using various engine lathes including but not limited to horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills.
o Use measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizings.
o Record data to produce expected service and/or design results including sizings and illustrations.
o Understand materials and their various applications in order to complete job.
o Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, and files to complete job.
o Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and observe safety precautions.
o Observe all safety procedures and use proper safety equipment including eye, ear, and hand protection.
o Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment at all times.
o Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
o Promote strong company image and maintain positive working relationships at all times including professional behavior with customers (very infrequent) and co-workers within department (daily basis).
o Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
o Perform work according to established company policies and procedures.
o Perform other duties as requested.
What You Will Need:
Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
o One year machinist experience and/or machine trades technical schooling . Basic mechanical knowledge required.
Other:
o Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Knowledge of trigonometry a plus.
o Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic written and verbal instructions.
o Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures.
o Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to routine duties within set company standards.
o Ability to operate overhead cranes, fork lift trucks, and other equipment.

What You'll Do:
Operate manual shop machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders
Perform threading, boring, tapping, turning, and basic metallizing
Cut and undercut commutators, and perform broaching operations
Carry out welding, soldering, and brazing tasks as needed
Maintain accurate job records and follow work instructions
Ensure all work meets EMC's quality and safety standards
Work safely and keep your area clean and organized
Operate forklifts (certification provided)
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma (required); associate degree in Machine Tool Technology preferred
1-2 years of manual machining experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and precision measurement skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle physical tasks
Knowledge of welding, brazing, soldering, and metal properties
Team player with solid communication skills and attention to detail
Must be able to read and communicate in English
