    Job Description SHOP WELDER/FABRICATOR Fineline Steel Fabrication has immediate openings for SHOP WELDERS/FABRICATORS to work at our steel fabrication facility. Previous experience with .045-1/16 wire welding process is a plus as well as experience with structural steel fabrication. This is a full-time position, must be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, pass a background check and have reliable transportation to get to and from work. Personal welding equipment and tools are required. Training will be provided. Qualifications: Proficient in assigned welding techniques Ability to read and comprehend shop drawings Running iron worker, plasma cutter, band saw Interpretation of drawings, including weld requirement symbols Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up (amps, volts, etc.) Conventional and precision measuring instruments Process inspection, certification, and documentation Welding equipment maintenance Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools Safety and housekeeping Certifications are not required and can be completed in-house Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and pre-employment background check Work Hours: Monday-Thursday from 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM. 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary or until work is completed. Related Safety Responsibilities: Must become familiar and compliant with Fineline's safety program and OSHA regulations. Must maintain fitness level sufficient to handle his/her required work load. Understands, is familiar with, and follows equipment safety requirements. Is always vigilant and aware of his/her own safety as well as the safety of those around him/her. RESPONSIBILITIES - Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials and equipment according to specifications. - Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques. - May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes. - Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions. - Bolts, clamps and welds together metal components of products such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipment. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position. May cut metal plates or structural shapes. - Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. - Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies. - May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation. - Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment. - Assists other mechanics as needed. - Respiratory protection is common and may be required. - Required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards.
