    About the Job: The Nuclear Superintendent will professionally execute heavy lifting and heavy transportation work in the field and at the yard, in keeping with company processes, standards, and nuclear industry regulations. This role leads crews to perform safely, profitably, and with customer satisfaction, while upholding the highest standards of nuclear safety culture and compliance. The Superintendent is responsible for the safety, qualification, and training of their crew, as well as adherence to site-specific and federal nuclear requirements. Description: Demonstrate company Core Values and uphold nuclear safety culture in all work. Support sales by conducting job walks, assisting with estimates, schedules, and technical input. Collaborate with engineering to plan lifts and transportation activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear standards, engineered drawings, and site procedures. Lead and supervise crews in the safe execution of heavy lifting and transport work, enforcing NRC/INPO/DOE regulations and ALARA principles. Monitor construction progress, critical path activities, and schedule milestones; anticipate challenges and communicate plans to project management and superintendents. Ensure all personnel are trained, qualified, and compliant with nuclear site requirements; provide ongoing coaching, evaluations, and skill development. Oversee equipment inspections, loadout lists, and mobilization to confirm readiness and compliance with nuclear site standards. Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, qualifications, and safety records, in alignment with regulatory and company requirements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, open communication, and professionalism with crews, management, and customers. Preferred Experience and Skills: 5 years previous experience in construction supervision, with a background in nuclear projects preferred. 2 years previous crane and rigging experience. Strong knowledge of nuclear safety culture, quality assurance, and industry codes/regulations. Proven ability to lead and motivate field crews and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction planning, scheduling, and resource management. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interface effectively with project management, engineering, and clients. OSHA and/or nuclear industry safety certifications preferred. Willingness to travel and work at nuclear project sites as required. What You Will Do: As Assistant Field Layout Engineer, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Takes direction from supervisor (QC Manager, Field Layout Engineer). Establishes building corners and permanent reference points to allow back checks of building location. Lay out wall / column / anchor bolt pattern center lines for correct installation of rebar, formwork embeds etc Sets and maintains benchmarks and control lines on each floor for use in layout, and verify that workers are using proper elevations and control lines. Checks slab for elevation and alignment during concrete pours. Performs as-built surveys to verify correct placement of work and to identify conflicts between items of work (i.e., where concrete slab edge or walls have encroached on the exterior skin), and may help maintain as-built drawings.
