Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Metallurgy Superintendent to lead and oversee the metallurgical function at our gold and silver heap leach operation. This role is responsible for managing the Assay Laboratory, Metallurgical Laboratory, and Metallurgical Engineering team, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The Metallurgy Superintendent will play a critical role in optimizing metallurgical performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management * Provide leadership and direction to the Assay Lab, Metallurgical Lab, and Metallurgical Engineering team. * Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Develop team capabilities through mentoring, training, and succession planning. Metallurgical Operations * Oversee metallurgical performance of the heap leach and Merrill-Crowe circuit, ensuring optimal gold and silver recoveries. * Manage sampling, assay, and metallurgical testing programs to ensure data accuracy and reliability. * Drive initiatives to improve metallurgical recovery, reagent optimization, and process efficiencies. * Ensure metallurgical balances, production forecasting, and reporting are accurate and timely. Technical & Process Improvement * Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot process issues and support plant operations. * Lead metallurgical test work programs to support process optimization, cost reduction, and future growth projects. * Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams to ensure integration of metallurgical best practices. * Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for heap leach operations, Merrill-Crowe plant performance, and laboratory quality control. Compliance & Reporting * Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and corporate governance requirements. * Maintain quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs for laboratory operations. * Prepare and deliver regular metallurgical reports, performance reviews, and improvement recommendations to senior leadership. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 8-10 years of metallurgical experience in gold and silver operations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. * Strong background in heap leaching and Merrill-Crowe processing. * Demonstrated leadership ability in managing technical teams and laboratory operations. * Proficiency in metallurgical data analysis, process modeling, and production reporting. * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
