Responsibilities
Overall Management:

She/he will also look for "soft" marketing opportunities for the physicians of the group such as speaking engagements, media interviews, etc. The Practice Administrator will take a personal role in marketing by building relationships with colleagues in our referral sources' offices. The Practice Administrator will work collaboratively to bring new physicians or other providers into the practice. This includes application for and compilation of all necessary licensure and certificates, oversight of the hospital application process, and oversight of insurance credentialing. The Practice Administrator will set-up the appropriate infrastructure to support the new provider including staffing, workspace and supplies. They will provide ongoing support and follow-LIP to the new physician to ensure a smooth practice launch and to care for any needs or concerns.
Special Projects:
The Practice Administrator will be responsible to implement and oversee special projects as required by the physicians. These will include facilities construction and improvement, consolidation of facilities, mergers, addition of new physicians, implementation of new systems, etc.

Ready to join? We are looking for a full-time Certified Orthopedic Technologist or Medical Assistant to be based at the outpatient clinic in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and communication skills. The Orthopedic Technician is responsible for providing assistance to patients and clinical staff in the full scope of orthopedic services. Duties involve casting, splinting, dressing changes, and phlebotomy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Apply and remove and/or assist with casts, splints, and dressings as ordered by the physician.
As directed by physician, removes staples, sutures and external fixation devices, as well as collects or assists with the collection of specimens, including venipuncture and C&S, and preparing specimens for processing.
Prepare and fit all types of orthopedic bracing devices and dme.
Instruct patients regarding care of casts, splints, dressings, dme etc.
Wound care as directed by physician.
Adjusts crutches and canes to fit patient.
Assist front desk with rooming patients in the event it is a slow cast room day.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Instructs patients in care of and assists patients in walking with casts, braces, and crutches.
Ordering supplies and maintaining supply inventory.
Creating PO for purchasing.
Ensure rooms are cleaned between patients, as well as cleaned and stocked at the end of the day.
Travel may be required to any of the 7 MOR clinic locations.

Barrington Orthopedic Specialists Rehabilitation Department offers comprehensive outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services, occupational therapy/hand therapy services, and several specialized wellness programs at all 4 of our facilities. Our Industrial Rehabilitation Program specializes in returning the injured worker back to the workplace and is located at our Schaumburg office.
Barrington Orthopedic Specialists was established in 1980 with a philosophy of treating patients as you would want to be treated. The practice has remained as the premier orthopedic provider of the northwest Chicago suburbs, providing compassionate, individualized care for patients' bones, joints, and muscle injuries and conditions.
Outpatient Orthopedic Rehabilitation consists of post-injury or post-surgical management of all orthopedic musculoskeletal conditions carried out by a team of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and athletic trainers.
Occupational/Hand Therapy consists of post-injury or post-surgical management of elbow, wrist, and hand orthopedic musculoskeletal conditions carried out by a team of occupational therapists and certified hand therapists.
Industrial Rehab consists of a Functional Capacity Evaluation coupled with a Work Hardening or Work Conditioning program designed by a physical therapist/ industrial rehabilitation specialist to safely return the injured worker back to the workplace.

Education and/or Experience

This is a work from home position; however, the candidate must be flexible to train onsite. As a Collections Specialist, Patient Financial Services you must possess strong communication, attention to detail and collaboration with all parties involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answer incoming calls into call center and assist patients/insurance companies with account questions in a courteous and timely manner. Ensure patient/insurance companies understand the billing statements and processes to provide the highest level of customer care.
Facilitate follow-up communications with insurance companies and patients regarding claim/payment status through practice management system and reporting tools.
Document all actions and maintain a permanent record of patient accounts to ensure a sufficient audit trail
Review and adjust balances according to fee schedules and management/MD requests, able to verify that claims have processed correctly by the insurance plan.
Research and obtain necessary documentation for insurance companies to process outstanding claims.
Identify denials and appeal with proper documentation within a timely manner to secure payment.
Answers patients' questions regarding statements and insurance coverage. Telephones or emails insurance carriers, adjusters and/or third-party companies to resolve unpaid balances.
Responds and handles attorney requests for bills as well as any questions regarding balances. Also negotiates settlements as cases close.
Any other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 2+ years of accounts receivable/collection experience in Workers Compensation; preferably in an Orthopedic practice.
Experience dealing with attorneys is a plus.
