The CRONUS Flight Controller serves as a technical expert for the ISS Command and Data Handling and Communications and Tracking Systems. Flight controllers with the CRONUS call sign are responsible for operating the communications and command systems onboard ISS from a flight control console located in the Mission Control Center (MCC) Houston. These individuals are also responsible for training astronauts, cosmonauts, and peers on those systems. Personnel will be expected to complete NASA led flight controller and instructor certifications for this area of expertise.
Initial training and duties will be as an entry-level flight controller often working evening, night and weekend shifts during non-complex operations. After a period of time (usually 1 to 2 years) as an MPSR, the employee will be trained as a FCR and/or as an Instructor. As a FCR, the individual will work primarily day shifts, complex operations, and on-call during other shifts. As an Instructor the individual will support shifts as needed, develop training materials, and instruct astronauts and flight controllers. It is anticipated that personnel will eventually achieve all 3 certifications (MPSR, FCR and Instructor).
Specific flight controller duties include maintaining a safe environment for astronauts onboard ISS; monitoring of real-time status and performance of the ISS systems; controlling ISS system operations from mission control; reporting status and anomalies to mission managers; determining mission impacts and implementing corrective actions from malfunctions; test and verification of operational products and analysis; integrating requirements with other systems and organizations.
Specific Instructor duties include the development of lesson plans and instruction materials; conduct of lessons in classrooms, in trainers and simulators; conduct of onboard training sessions; conduct of crew and flight controller evaluations; writing training facility requirements.

Responsibilities
The Lunar Terrain Vehicle - Senior Flight Controllers will:
Establish the mission operations architecture for new commercial human spaceflight programs in collaboration with customer stakeholders, leveraging comprehensive spaceflight operations experience in the dynamic commercial environment
Create, test, and verify operational products and analysis
Lead crew training activities for new commercial spaceflight systems, including development of lesson plans and instruction materials; conduct lessons in classrooms, trainers, and simulators; conduct onboard training sessions; conduct crew and flight controller evaluations; write training facility requirements

Qualifications

Responsibilities
The PLSS Project Manager will:
Perform project management and engineering functions for space suit development, including requirements
development, hardware development, manufacturing, assembly, and test
Manage the engineering team for the specific space suit subsystem assigned.
Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support
Monitor cost performance for their subsystem development against established plans
Develop and maintain company and customer financial reports

Should understand previous vent loop build/manufacturing issues and testing including component checkouts and DVT/
TVAC testing
Should be able to describe the consequences of making various design alterations to the existing xEMU
baseline design
Detailed knowledge of thermal control and auxiliary thermal control loops including heat removal capabilities, pressures and flow rates, water/loop materials compatibility, issues with extended quiescent stowage
Detailed knowledge of design trades that led to the selection of xEMU thermal loop component designs, detailed knowledge of hardware design, knowledge of xEMU thermal loop hardware build/manufacturing history including issues encountered and resolution, and knowledge of testing including component checkouts and PLSS level DVT/TVAC testing
Should be able to describe the consequences of making various design alterations to the existing xEMU baseline design
