Job Description:
The VP of Portfolio is responsible for strategic ownership, profitability, and growth of specific product lines. Reporting to the Chief Product & Marketing Officer (CPMO), this role serves as the business leader for assigned product lines, making key decisions that impact performance, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires a business-builder orientation - someone who is energized by growth opportunities, evolving scope, and cross-functional execution in dynamic markets. The VP ensures alignment with Packaging strategy while driving lifecycle management, commercial strategy integration, operational efficiency, and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Leadership
* Continuously monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity to guide product line strategy.
* Leverage insights from the Market Insights team and collaborate with platform-level Commercial leaders to shape strategic direction.
Product Lifecycle Management
* Own and guide the full product lifecycle-from concept through development to end-of-life-ensuring business and customer alignment.
* Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to prioritize roadmaps and development efforts.
* Anticipate and address evolving needs and value opportunities across the product lifecycle-including parts, upgrades, and enhancements-to deliver long term value to the customer.
Growth & Profitability
* Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost efficiency across assigned product lines.
* Maintain accountability for financial performance, with oversight of the full P&L including Product Line Margin and SG&A costs (in alignment with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain).
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Align across engineering, sales, supply chain, and aftermarket support to execute and deliver results.
* Collaborate closely with domain leaders in Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operations Officer structures to ensure execution discipline and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure clear accountability and decision-making across matrixed teams. Proactively manage escalation paths and cross-functional alignment to avoid execution delays.
Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning

* Lead Product Managers and Product Marketing Leaders to integrate product vision, commercial strategy, and operational execution. Ensure alignment of go-to-market plans, product roadmaps, and resource investments to drive market share and profitability.
* Work closely across the packaging leadership team to ensure executional alignment, cross-functional accountability, and delivery of customer and business outcomes.
* Play a critical leadership role in translating enterprise strategy into actionable plans that advance product competitiveness, market position, and long-term value.
* Coach, develop and retain high-performing team of Product Managers and Product Marketing Specialists. Create succession plans and skill development roadmaps to sustain long-term business success.

Job Description:
Barry-Wehmiller Packaging (BWPKG) Bag Filling and Palletizing provides complex packaging solutions to a base of global industrial customers. The Field Service Technician (FST) acts as the primary technical interface for BWPKG to the customer providing detailed technical assistance and on-site support by installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and optimizing these integrated production lines. Further, recommending preventative maintenance and optimized production solutions is a key area of success for this role. The FST works closely with end-use customers as well as internal Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Manufacturing team members to troubleshoot and repair related equipment. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and perform repairs and modifications on mechanical, electrical, or programmable controls for complex automated and integrated industrial packaging equipment at customer sites.
Assist in the installation, start-up, checkout, validation, and testing of existing, upgraded, and new equipment.
Work independently and decisively to analyze and effectively resolve faults or malfunctions by means of direct or online interface to customer equipment.

Essential Qualifications:
A degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the packaging industry, demonstrating expertise in mechatronics, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls systems.
Proficient in PLC programming, settings, and parameters.
Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic controls systems along with a strong understanding of integrated material handling systems.
Understanding of and ability to read floorplan layouts, electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, programming logic schema as well as other technical documentation.
Proficient in structured troubleshooting techniques

Working Conditions & Physical Efforts:
The job is performed in an indoor shop environment. The temperature range can be from 100 degrees in the summer to about 50 degrees in the winter. Most operations may expose employee to some type of disagreeable working conditions (wind, cold, heat, dust, dirt, fumes, noise, vibration, water, or oil). Working conditions may vary with specific work assignments. Exposure to electrical hazards, grease, loud noises, and outside elements occur continually or regularly. Extreme care should be taken to prevent damage to equipment or department personnel in the area of operations especially when performing setups. The job requires safety glasses, hearing protection, and metatarsal safety shoes be worn at all times. The employee must be able to spend the entire work shift on their feet within the shop environment. Essential Functions:

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.
Many of the tasks are physical and the incumbent has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. What You'll Do
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines for food and beverage industries. As a PM you will provide engineering leadership experience and a solid working understanding of process, utility, packaging systems, drafting (CAD), controls, equipment procurement, installation, training, and start-up. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record delivering projects on budget & schedule, managing complex scopes, managing client interaction & expectations, supervising contractors and being able to identify & help develop new business opportunities.
The vision for this role is to support machine safety projects across all markets that Design Group supports. We have an established Machine Safety Program that can deliver a complete machine safety solution for our clients. Our solution can include all aspects of a safety life cycle including assessments, safety standard/specification creation, detailed safety design, safety hardware procurement, safety circuit verification, mechanical guarding, implementation/integration, contractor management, project management and safety validation.
Responsibilities:
* Be accountable for all aspects of project execution including line layout engineering, mechanical design, vendor/contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, project finances, site management and installation support.
* Define the required scope of supply for machine safety compliance and implement safety life cycle solutions from risk assessments through installation and safety validation.
* Lead the packaging line design, integration, installation and start-up of capital projects, including estimation, justification, budget, schedule, design, implementation, acquisition, installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and documentation.
* Develop equipment design and specifications, design of equipment support systems, and bid analyses.
* Lead communications with vendors (OEM's) and contractors to implement "cutting edge" automation solutions.
* Provide engineering solutions for continuous improvement objectives using industry standard tools and procedures (Change Control, ROI, etc).
* Evaluate existing packaging operations, and suggest and drive projects to provide immediate ROI and improve productivity.
* Identify and specify required tooling and/or packaging equipment for projects within designated timelines.

What You'll Bring
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
* Minimum 7 of project engineering/management experience with packaging systems and/or manufacturing automation applications.
* Experience in the food, beverage, household products or personal care industries strongly preferred.
* Experience in supporting and/or implementing machine safety solutions strongly preferred. That experience can come from supporting projects/programs or through completing industry recognized machine safety certifications (i.e. CMSE - Certified Machinery Safety Expert, FS Technician / Engineer (TÜV Rheinland) - Machinery).
* Excellent engineering and leadership skills as well as the ability to simultaneously organize, and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
* Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact within both engineering and operational environments with both clients, and suppliers.
* Ability to develop, maintain and grow solid client relationships.
