CORE JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Make personal connections with Guests to create loyalty through engaging conversation • Check identification to ensure Guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages and comply with RAS procedures as defined by federal and state laws • Read and organize tickets to quickly and accurately serve Guests and manage large crowds • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for Guests per BWWs Standard Operating Procedures standards and specifications • Inform Guests of the Beer of the Month and make suggestions upon request • Replace kegs and restock bottles of alcohol when necessary • Monitor and manage bar inventory and cost control measures including tracking waste per company drink specs and Standard Operating Procedures • Monitor current levels of inventory including stemware, glassware, garnished, etc. to ensure proper levels, and prepares, washes, and sterilizes these items to replenish inventory as required • Collect and accurately process guest payments per Company Standard Procedures • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customer excessive drinking by taking appropriate precautions • Take food and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from Guests • Maintain clean and sanitary bar area, equipment blenders, and perform glass washing • Other duties as assigned by supervisor The duties of this position may change from time to time. Prepare daily orders for bar items to maintain pars. * Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department. * Perform accurate bar inventory on the last day of each month or as deemed necessary by the Director of Food and Beverage or the Restaurant Manager. * Responsible for learning suggestive selling techniques and using them during services. * Maintain cleanliness of all workplace areas that apply to the bar. * Maintain perfectly crisp uniform. Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate, must be at least 18 years old to serve or pour alcohol. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers and to communicate with guests and take orders. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
