Summary of position:

We are looking for an engaging and experienced Bartender to provide attentive and friendly service to our bar patrons. You must have extensive knowledge of different types of beer, wine, and liquor, and know how to mix a variety of specialty beverages. We expect our bartenders to engage with our customers while always being aware of how much people are drinking and looking for signs that someone has had too much to drink. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register, taking inventory of stock, and replenishing or ordering more when necessary.
We are a medium-sized resort located sixty miles North-East of Fairbanks, Alaska, located in the Chena River State Recreation Area. Notable for our Hot Springs, we also offer a variety of outdoor activities, including Hiking, Camping, ATV/Snow Machine Tours, Dog Sled Rides, and Northern Lights Viewing during the Aurora Season. We also offer a restaurant and café, hotel, and gift shops.
This is a fast-paced position and employees will be expected to work 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hour day.

Summary for Bartender
The Bartender is responsible for the vessel's daily beverage sales operation, including the effective administration, supervision, and execution of beverage programs consistent with the company standards and goals that drive the guest experience culture while achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Bartender
Deliver the highest possible quality of beverage services on board and ensure the implementation and execution of corporate policies and procedures within the Hotel Department.
Controls, measures, and reports bar sales outlet performance daily and takes required corrective action to ensure that operations meet company standards and objectives.
Achieves or exceeds bar revenue and cost objectives for the established cruise program targets. Creates new opportunities and maximizes existing ones to generate extra revenue. Manages the beverage outlet as a profit center, assuming responsibility for all revenue and expenses. Ensures that the department's operational budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are controlled.
Recommend measures to prevent/reduce costs.
Implement inventory and audit procedures for beverage facilities consistent with operational policies and directives. Along with the Hotel Manager, ensure beverage inventories in stores and bars are at the par level determined by the Company. Ensures that the bar is counted after each cruise and investigates discrepancies.
Oversees beverage facilities are maintained at company standards and meet or exceed Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation regulations.
Inspect the lounge and bar for physical condition, equipment condition, and presentation and ensure prompt repair and maintenance through proper job order use.
Follows prescribed hours set forth by the vessel's daily roster.
Maintain awareness of basic safety rules, workplace safety, and respect for the environment.
Commit to understanding terrain and vessel itinerary.
Supports the Hotel department in projects.
Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.
Minimum Qualifications for Bartender
High school diploma or equivalent GED
2-4 years of experience in the culinary or restaurant industry with proven knowledge of and experience in bar duties obtained within the last 2 years.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
TAP (Training for Alcohol Professionals)
Alaska Food Worker Card issued by DEC.
Strong communication skills: verbal, non-verbal, and writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate written technical information.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to manage situations where issues must be resolved satisfactorily.
Strong communication, and organizational skills.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Must be experienced at multi-tasking and remain flexible in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Microsoft Office experience.
Valid US driver's license and a clean driving record.
Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
