Summary:

Chena Hot Springs Resort Restaurant and Bar, located 60 miles outside Fairbanks, Alaska is hiring for the bartender position. We are looking for an engaging and experienced Bartender to provide attentive and friendly service to our bar patrons. You must have extensive knowledge of different types of beer, wine, and liquor, and know how to mix a variety of specialty beverages. We expect our bartenders to engage with our customers while always being aware of how much people are drinking and looking for signs that someone has had too much to drink. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register, taking inventory of stock, and replenishing or ordering more when necessary.
We are a medium-sized resort located sixty miles North-East of Fairbanks, Alaska, located in the Chena River State Recreation Area. Notable for our Hot Springs, we also offer a variety of outdoor activities, including Hiking, Camping, ATV/Snow Machine Tours, Dog Sled Rides, and Northern Lights Viewing during the Aurora Season. We also offer a restaurant and café, hotel, and gift shops.
This is a fast-paced position and employees will be expected to work 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hour day.
As with all jobs offered at Chena Hot Springs Resort, single and double-occupancy housing with communal bathroom is provided, as is two hot meals a day and a self-serve cold breakfast. Internet coverage is intermittent and there is limited access to free and paid versions of the Wi-Fi.

Summary of position:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve beverages and food accurately and consistently to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in a high level of guest satisfaction. Also to prepare beverages accurately and consistently for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the outlet and service staff as needed. This position represents the Restaurant and Hotel in maintaining existing business relationships and works directly with all hotel departments in coordinating groups, events, hotel food and beverage service in all outlets.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent GED; prior hotel or hospitality experience preferred
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills
State Alcohol Certification required or ability to obtain one.
State Food Handlers required or ability to obtain one.
