Job Overview
The AM Supervisor/Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests, combining standard morning server duties with leadership responsibilities. Core duties include preparing the dining area, taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction, while the supervisor aspect involves overseeing shift operations, training staff, upholding service expectations, and resolving guest issues. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Director
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions about the menu, offer specials, and provide a memorable dining experience.
Operational tasks: Set up the dining area, manage reservations, and maintain cleanliness, including setting and clearing tables.
Coordination: Work with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth and timely service.
Menu knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, to confidently assist guests.
Upselling and Revenue Growth: Proactively promote and recommend menu items, specials, and drink pairings to maximize check averages and drive revenue.
Building Guest Rapport: Engage with guests to create a welcoming and memorable dining experience, fostering strong relationships to ensure repeat business and positive word-of-mouth
JOB DESCRIPTION
Bartending Ability: Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, maintaining a clean and stocked bar area, following all alcohol service laws and company policies
POS Fluency: Expertly operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for accurate order entry, payment processing, and billing.
POS Programming and Reporting: Utilize Point-of-Sale (POS) software knowledge to program and run routine sales and inventory reports for management analysis.
Payment handling: Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly.
Shift management: Oversee the dining room during the morning shift, ensuring all operational standards are met.
Staff support: Train new staff, assist with side work, and support the management team.
Problem resolution: Address any issues or guest complaints that arise during the shift.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and local laws, such as checking IDs for alcohol service.
Checklists: Complete any necessary operational checklists for the shift.
Special Events (Banquets) Support: Be available to assist with and supervise banquet coverage and special events as needed, which may include assisting in the setup of event spaces and providing server/bartending service for larger groups.
Qualifications
Requires at least 6 months of closely related serving experience; experience in high-volume or fast-casual dining preferred. Experience in a lead or supervisory role is highly desirable
Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, carry trays, and lift up to 25-30 pounds.
Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours
