POSITION SUMMARY: The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service and light hors d'oeuvres to guests at the Oxford Collection of Hotels' evening reception or restaurant. Check the identification of all guests who appear to be under 26 years of age
Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality
Input orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served
Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and insure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
Lock up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secures bank
Display knowledge of liquor laws, maintain the attractive presentation and sanitize all areas at least once daily, make suggestions for the reception and drink menus

Essential Responsibilities:
Welcome guests and verify guests age prior to serving alcohol.
Take guest food and drink orders, suggesting menu items and answering questions.
Initiate and maintain appropriate conversations with guests.
Serve guests responsibly, in adherence to company, local, state, and federal regulations.
Verify that food/drink items exceed guest satisfaction.
Anticipate guest's needs.
Maintain bar-pre-bus, cap ashtrays, detail, etc.
Answer the telephone when necessary to take call-in orders, etc.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following company recipes.
Enter food and drink orders in the POS system.
Prepare, present, and receive payment for guest checks.
Set up bar for daily operation.
Cut fruit for garnishes
Assemble bar dishwasher and/or compartment sinks.
Wash and sterilize glassware; monitor glassware to ensure safety.
Stock utensils, beer, wine, liquor, glassware, juices, waters, coffees, mixes, coolers, and roll-ups.
Maintain bank balance; submit POS verified cash drop.
Clean shelves, coolers, rails, bins, mirrors, wood, bottles, lamps, and floors.
Maintain all bar equipment.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Verbally communicate with managers, co-workers, guests, and the public in a friendly and positive manner.
Serve alcoholic beverages and obtain and maintain a liquor card if state law requires.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Skills & Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel.)
Strong leadership, management, organizational and communication skills.
The ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to deliver results.
The ability to work well with, as well as motivate, a variety of personality types and maintain tact and diplomacy throughout all interactions.
The ability to multitask and prioritize.
Hours:
Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education & Experience:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Prior bartending experience preferred.
Certification to serve alcohol as directed by state and local laws required.
Physical Requirements of the Position:
Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or most of the time) to move objects. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
May be required to lift in excess of 40 pounds on occasion.
Physical Activity of the Position:
