ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Assist residents with seating in the dining room * Greet residents when taking and serving meal selections * Ensure proper dining room setup and proper table setting * Knowledge of table clearing techniques during and after dining service * Responsible for resetting table during and after dining service * General duties include but are not limited to: cleaning, mopping, sweeping, and dusting the kitchen and dining room * Ensures proper garbage and trash removal * Complete side work: napkin folding, stocking and cleaning wait station, refilling condiments * Understand menu items and ability to explain preparation methods * Provide a high satisfactory level of customer service to promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere * Knowledge of individual diet needs as prescribed by physician * Ensure all meals delivered are garnished * Reports to the Cook or Executive Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed * Ensures the proper use of equipment and supplies and upholds cleaning and safety standards KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contacts * Able to make independent decisions * Must be able to communicate a warm, friendly and caring manner * Must be able to follow recipes and menus * Must fully understand the importance of reliability and timeliness * Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens * Knowledge of customer service principles and practices EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * High School Graduate or equivalent EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Experience in serving in an upscale dining environment is preferred
