What It Takes Legal age to serve alcohol in your state (18 or 21 depending on location). State-required alcohol service certification (Responsible Vendor, TABC, SafeStaff, or equivalent). Friendly, outgoing, and love working with people. Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits (bonus points if you know cocktail trends). Can hustle-stand, move, and stay on your feet for long shifts. Strong communication skills and confidence to connect with guests. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and keep up in a fast-paced environment. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, making eye contact, etc.), and acknowledge the guest to let them know the bartender will be right with them. Take, fill and check on to go orders.
