The first stage of German industrialization begins in 1835 with the building of the first German railway.

1865

The company was founded by Friedrich Engelhorn on April 6, 1865, and is headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany.“

1898 A supervisory board report notes the setting up of an agency in Copenhagen for Scandinavia.

1909: Chemist and visionary S.W. Flesheim established Master Builders Inc. in Ohio.

1926 The agreement with Warthoe & Sønner, Copenhagen is terminated.

1938

With effect from 01 Oct 1938, responsibility for business transactions and I.G. product representation goes to A/S Anilin Compagniet, Copenhagen.

1939

1939 Agency agreement for chemicals (involving A/S Anilin and Warthoe & Sønner) for sales in Denmark and Iceland.

1954

1954 At-Arslan Türk Boya ve Kimya Ltd Şti , a sales company with headquarters in Istanbul, was founded on January 18, 1954.

1954 A/S Badilin is the sole representative for BASF dyes, chemicals and fertilizers in Denmark.

1960

1960 Agreements signed between BASF and A/S Badilin on the sale of BASF products to Iceland via A/S Badilin.

1967

1967 BASF Holding A. G. Zürich acquires full ownership of A/S Badilin.

1969

The foundation date of this company was probably 11 April 1969.

1982

1982 BASF acquires the Grindsted Products plant in Grenå. The plant produces vitamin B2 and C from corn starch.

1985

ISPOL had been producing and selling PUR systems, and providing PUR products in the Turkish market since 1985.

1990

1990 Suomen BASF Oy changes name to BASF Oy.

1996

1996 Foundation of BASF Kanoo Gulf FZE as the sales office in the Free Zone.

1997

Hence, a joint venture called “Yaşar BASF Otomotiv Kaplama Ltd. Şti.” was founded on July 1, 1997 by both groups with each having 50% share.

1998

1998 BASF Danmark A/S is renamed BASF A/S (effective date: 24 July 98).

1999

1999 BASF acquired fourty percent of the shares (owned by Sümer Holding) of the production company, BASF Sümerbank Türk Kimya Sanayi A.Ş and owned all company shares.

2001

2001 The Business Centre Nordic/Baltic is formed, including the Nordic and Baltic countries.

2005

2005 BASF ceases vitamin C production in Grenå because of a slump in the price of vitamin C and a loss of the site’s competitiveness.

2007

2007 Engelhard Pigments Oy changes name to BASF Minerals Oy.

2011

2011 BASF Kids' Lab, reaching over 472.000 kids in 35 countries, initiated its activities in Turkey.

2015

2015 BASF celebrates its 150th anniversary globally and 110th anniversary in the Middle East.

2016

2016 BASF inaugurates new office in Abu Dhabi.

2017

2017 BASF Turk, moved to the headquarters located at Nidakule Ataşehir North Building, which is a LEED Gold Certificate candidate.
