JOB SUMMARY
Accountable for the timely installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical plant equipment and facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation.
The incumbent is assigned jobs by the supervisor and is expected to complete most jobs, including those of a complex nature, with little to no supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and controls within the food processing plant.
Maintain and service motors, drives, conveyors, Cookers, Coolers, dryers, packaging machinery, and automated systems.
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and food safety standards.
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to established schedules.
Maintain detailed maintenance and repair logs in ERP/CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, control panels, sensors, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive attitude toward electrical maintenance.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must own all basic tools to be used on the job. (Specialty tools will be provided).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Preferred 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically able to lift 50 LBS, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas as needed.

The responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor is to directly oversee the production maintenance, packaging maintenance, and/or electrical maintenance to ensure that plant equipment and structures are in good operating condition. This position also manages, develops, and engages maintenance personnel to support operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manages maintenance personnel, which includes but is not limited to, communicating job expectations, addressing performance concerns, managing attendance, issuing disciplinary actions when needed, investigating and resolving employee issues, reducing turnover through employee engagement, and recognizing employees on a regular basis.
Maintains equipment in good operating condition to minimize downtime.

Monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Assists Maintenance Manager in the adherence to maintenance budget, including the labor budget.

Oversees the execution of planned and scheduled works, including auditing performance and quality of work.
Manages contractor relationships and oversees quality and timeliness of work performed.

Other Details
Work Environment: The position is located in a food manufacturing facility. Fifty percent of time will be on the factory floor and fifty percent of time will be in an office setting. The noise levels on the factory floor are usually loud, but in the office setting noise levels are low to moderate. Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. Requires the ability to flex schedule to address the needs of a twenty-four hour facility.

All assignments must be carried out under stringent safety and sanitation standards. Quality requirements are constantly monitored, necessitating equipment fabrication and machine operations within specific tolerances and operational specifications to ensure the delivery of food products on time and at the lowest cost by conforming exactly to the customer's requirements. Participation of employees in the implementation of improved concepts is encouraged in all production processes.
Skills required include an intermediate level in proficiency in welding, plumbing, electrical repair, instrumentation, running lathes and milling machines, fabricating and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Additionally, the incumbent must own and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
Principle Accountabilities:
Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, drying equipment, motors, VFDs, and control instruments to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes downtime.
Ability to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Ability to perform basic welding tasks.
Ability to understand mechanical and electrical blue prints, sketches or schematics of complex objects and circuitry as requested in work orders or to perform job duties.
Is aware of, and can demonstrate, maintenance best practices such as alignments of sheaves and sprockets.
Identifies needed parts, supplies, and repair items working in the CMMS.
Provides support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
Assures compliance with 6S and housekeeping standards.
Participates in Continuous Improvement activities.
